Anglotino, let us not forget the 20.2% given in february. And she brags the Kirchners gave increased wages 1700% in the past decade. Think of what that would doto your wage base in a decade. I calced a 2003 average us wage of 41k would be like almost 700k.......lol

It shows from the IMF/USA/U/K and other world powers that the Argentine President will promise to say or do anything to retain power, afterwards argentina will have even higher inflation,no control over finances.Mind you N.Korea comes to mind, will do anything to remain in power.Argentine population finances are up the creek, thats the reason to cause problems with our great britains own colony Falkland Islands. The only difference between 1982 and 2013.Then was a military junta, now is a civilian junta, thats all.

Jul 28th, 2013 - 12:05 am - Link - Report abuse 0Around $430 a month. I wonder if that is sustainable given that the Chinese have put on hold all the infrastructure projects?
Washington has the highest minimum in the--- USA---:
at around $1,270 a month, for an average 32-33 hour workweek.
But only like 1% of the workforce makes that because the rest make
more.
Given that this is the home of the Windows OS (used in 95% of compys worldwide), of Boeing, Amazon, (fair-tradeish) Starbucks and Costco, they are rolling, just RoooooLlliiiiiIing in money. This is like, sustainable.
Where would I live if I were free? Money is a crude metric, it doesn't always work. So google La Campora kids, and then google Washington community activities for kids, and then count the smiles.
$430 month is based on the gov't exchange rate that no one can get. The street exchange rate is U$1/10+ so that would make it less than Chile and a bit more than Brazil.

Jul 28th, 2013 - 01:14 am - Link - Report abuse 0Wow!! $1.270 a month! No way golly, that must be paradise! All that money just to burn off on whatever I want! I'm hoping on a narco made sub right now!
Oh wait:
average rent in Washington?
http://average-rent.findthedata.org/d/a/Washington
$1.300 right there. Ops!!... I guess I'd better get a second job, quick!
I need a car now:
Average car installment: 300 a month
oh... INSURANCE!
http://average-rent.findthedata.org/d/a/Washington
$150 a month.
$1.750 ... Still haven't counted GASONLINE.
gotta get that full time second job now!
Oh, taxes! FORGOT!
take 20% of that 1.270... that leaves 1.000! RED ALERT!
My second jobs gets me to 1.900 a months...
HEALTH INSURANCE? Forget it, can't afford that.
That would leave with two jobs 200 for food... Imagine if I have a family on that???
Ok, lets cut the car, lets imagine I have the guts to ride the non-existent american transportation in any city outside New York. That saves 500... but then lets say 150 goes for bus fares.
That leaves 400 for food. Ok, apply for food aid.
Shit. America land of opportunity?
Ok... lets imagine I make DOUBLE the minimum wage (3/4 of Americans do not make this) 2.500 a month.
Ok, 2.500 - 500 taxes - 1.300 house - 500 car - 150 gasoline = 50 dollars left!!!! shit, still need a second job (or my partner/wife got to work too).
Those days where one person could head a whole family are long gone, huh?
Ok, let's pretend I find a partner she/he makes 1.500... ok, that's a little better.
Still do we get insurance???
What do do?
And then food, and then heating, and then maybe a mortage instead of rent and all the insurance that comes with that? And saving for college? and dental? and water? electricity? internet? tv? newspaper?
Yeah, that's why everyone in America is so happy, right?
Who are these two above kidding. The vast majority of Americans are splashing in water, getting poorer, things more expensive and their currency is crapping.

Massive inflation.

Jul 28th, 2013 - 01:39 am - Link - Report abuse 0In Argentina people do not pay for health insurance, housing, transportation, education, college, and many don't pay for food for their children, heating, meat, cable internet, and sport subscription.
That 430 dollars is basically pocket money.
How odd, when I lived there I paid for heath insurance, gas, rent, subte, food, restaurants, cable, internet, phone, groceries, cell phone etc etc etc. Everything I pay for here.
Jul 28th, 2013 - 01:45 am - Link - Report abuse 0You are such a f'cking liar.

The point is... those 3000 pesos don't have to go as far as in the USA, where people have to pay out of pocket many more things, its that simple really. Does that equalize living standards? No it does not... But to pretend that those 430 dollars have to cover American-style expenses is quite simply a farcical, apples to oranges, and quite stupid argument.
Health care is free, unless you want good care
Jul 28th, 2013 - 02:40 am - Link - Report abuse 0Education is free, unless you want an education not from la campora. Get out tobi and wake up.
Sports subscription, that is a living essential, cable and internet? But as you said....many don;t pay for food, utilities, meat etc......unlike 4% outright. I had a friend that recently lost a job........430 pesos is what the unemployment insurance.
Tobi did I say you said 1700%? Where did I say you said that? I asked a question to you. Do you realize that a 1700% wage increase of minimum 2003 wage of 7.65 would pay 130 an hour our 270K a year here. The was over your head that is means nothing in Argentina because the 10% inflation from Indec is a lie. And even with the 25% increase this week, the unions say it does not cover inflation.
She claimed that under Kirchnerism’s ten-year administration, the minimum wage has increased 1,700%, with her late husband and presidential predecessor, Néstor Kirchner coming into power in 2003 with a minimum wage that was at 200 Pesos.
Why do not not stop blindly defending your Argentina? My country has serious flaws, but it is nothing in comparison to Argentina......debt ridden...yes, but 67% is also owed to Americans and more importantly, they are paid.
Ok fine, your country is ”better'... FILL IN THE BLANK person of this forum, your country is better. Yay!

Jul 28th, 2013 - 09:06 am - Link - Report abuse 0Also, the minimum wage earner qualifies for free rent via S ection 8, takes the bus, often gets free full medical insurance via medicaid (depends on assets in), and gets a food debit card depending on the size of the household.
really, do you realize there's no poor people selling SQUARES of toilet paper in our public bathrooms? Why would u want that for ur people?
You realize poor kids get free breakfast, lunch, and uuuuuh SCHOOLBOOKS at school, in controlled.classrooms with..toiletpaper?.
The point is WHAT has caused that prosperity, so it can reach ARGENTINA'S poor kids.
Relative freedom and boring long-term thinking is part of the answer.
26. I called you a liar because you are a liar. If health insurance was free why would Swiss Medical/Medicus exist? You have free hospitals ( so do we) but they are unsanitary and dilapidated that I wouldn't take my dog.

Most people pay for their houses in Argentina? Yeah really? What about all the people who rent? Live with their parents until their 40s because they can't get a mortgage?
The point is you have no idea about the USA, we have the same plans for poor people that Argentina does, food, shelter, transportation, health care etc. Better plans and more of them.
It just proves you have been brainwashed your whole life and are nothing but an immature idiot who has no idea what the world is like outside of the slums he grew up in.

None of it is 'free'. It has to be paid for and that is the problem with the Argentine government, they are giving away more than they can afford to pay for.
Jul 28th, 2013 - 01:10 pm - Link - Report abuse 0From talking to people in Argentina they really don't want to use the 'free' healthcare and not only because you need to queue at dawn for an appointment and nothing much ever gets dealt with, but because of the snob factor. I am friends with people that would be classed as poor in most countries but their pride will not allow them to use the 'free' healthcare, education etc.
Elaine no one uses the free care in Argentina. If they have a job they most likely have private insurance co-paid with their employer. When I asked about the free care, they just look at me and shake they head and shiver. I heard, long lings and long waiting lists to get even the simplest of things taken care of.
Jul 28th, 2013 - 02:14 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I know someone there that lost their job a while back. I had asked about the free care and they still said they would rather pay out of their pocket.
Unemployment as a whole whopping 430 pesos.....and it took fours months of going back every couple of weeks to see is they found them in the system. Seems they hoped the frustration would mount to the point of not putting a claim in.
@17, 19, 26 Let's see whether you can manage a little intelligence. CFK is increasing the minimum wage in argieland by 25.5%. Except for public employees, this is money she doesn't have to find and pay out. What is the mechanism for asking private employers whether they can afford that? How many people will get made redundant, or be sacked, and have to go on welfare? When it comes to public employees, where is the money coming from? Taxes? Try this one. You finally leave your parents' house and have to fend for yourself. Mummy and Daddy aren't going to give you ANY money. Or ANY accommodation. Or ANY food. Nor are they going to pay ANY of your bills. You've got a job and you're on 3,000 pesos a month. You're pleased with CFK because her announcement means that your income is going to increase to 3,765 pesos per month. That's gross. You go into work and your boss tells you that you're out of a job. Because you're the last one he took on so you have to be the first to go. That extra 765 pesos, or more, has to be found for 5 other people. So you don't go from 3,000 to 3,765 pesos. You go from 3,000 pesos to zero.
Jul 28th, 2013 - 02:32 pm - Link - Report abuse 0See whether you can imagine it. Because, when you finally leave school, it could happen to you!
Do you actually understand what anything FREE is worth? Exactly what you pay for it! All those things you list. Someone pays for them. Free uni gets paid for from taxes. Same with free healthcare. Or do you think teachers and doctors work for nothing? Well, in the case of teachers, they probably do.
Everything here is a frustration. Nothing works. We need parts required by the gas company to fix our gas supply...which they cut off in 5 seconds because of a leak...which could have been rectified by just turning off the gas supply to the problem area....but were told the parts needed are sitting in the port...unable to come in as they are imports...and god forbid that anything should come into the country. Here is what the head of the agriculture group said about the whole government: The Decade, quotes, ´ganada' is another colossal lies of the official story. It was a decade where the world offered us extraordinary opportunities, wasted completely, said Etchevehere.
Jul 28th, 2013 - 02:37 pm - Link - Report abuse 0And contacting Cristina Kirchner said: the world Madam not dropped us over,. 36. At some point, and I think very very soon, the large Int'l mfg will pack up and leave Argentina. Companies want and need stability, how can you build cars without parts or gas? Chemicals without gas or electric?
Jul 28th, 2013 - 02:49 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Shutting down mfg even temporarily is not like turning on and off a light switch. It is a huge burden and one I think will force them to leave once and for all.

@34 Yes, pretty much what I heard. The doctors get extremely frustrated and only acute cases really get dealt with. Yeah yeah tobi. Is that the best that you can do is a article written with con concatenated stats. I read that at breakfast and it must be written by the tea party. While times are tough in the USA and NO ONE here disputes that, the numbers make no sense. 4 out or 5.....80%. 19% of the workers earn over 75k a year 26% earn over 50%. As I said, you can't concatenate stats, derive a new number and claim X is happening.
