Cleaning squid is rightly considered a messy job. Despite being a culinary favourite, the thought of handling the slippery cephalopod prevents many people from attempting to prepare squid to cook at home. But that old excuse has been challenged. The man behind the new Squidezy is inventor Rod Cross. Rod designed the clever gadget to make it simpler for everyone to enjoy fresh squid more often.
“I wanted to make it a lot faster and easier to clean a squid at home, in a restaurant kitchen, Caravan Park or out on a boat,” said Cross.
“Squidezy gives you a firm hold of the squid while you’re removing its inedible parts. It takes the effort and most of the mess out of the preparation stages,” he said. Having a better grip is a big improvement on the usual method of manual squid cleaning, but another important benefit of the Squidezy is its safety.
“Using sharp knives on any raw seafood can be risky and that’s what stops a lot of people from even trying to clean a squid,” said Cross. “Squidezy is even safe for the kids to use!”
“Squidezy is made of food-safe moulded plastic and it has no sharp edges. There’s no risk of injury using the device, following our easy instructions. It’s a clean, quick and safe way to clean squid,” he said.
Like any natural foods, when bought unprocessed, squid is an economical and delicious staple worth adding to your cooking routine, according to Cross.
“When you realise how simple it is to use Squidezy, you can save money by buying whole squid because you know you will clean it quickly and easily”.
As for mastering the Squidezy in under a minute, testament to that is that Rod’s wife Jenny in first-time use of the gadget took just 52 seconds to clean a squid. And this was her first ever squid cleaning experience!
Squidezy comes in a set of three sizes, so it’s certain to fit the catch of the day, any day, at your local seafood store or on the deck of your boat. (FIS Australia).-

Of course, there is no controversy here, and its a 'clean slate' ( except for the squid slime) for you on this thread. Much easier.
No wonder you are so eager to encourage us to leave you alone on the Figmentburgh PA thread, and come here.
