Ad hoc’ talks do not mean four sides: that was the swift and firm declaration from the Government of Gibraltar in response to statements made to the Gibraltar Chronicle by Gonzalo de Benito, Spain’s Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. Read full article

Sep 20th, 2013 - 08:05 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Like Argentina, they have only one aim, one interest, and one view,
And all end with sovereignty,
Yet rather than except the rights of the people, who do not want to be Spanish,
And rather than move ahead with their own future,
They both relish living in the past,
In the world of the 21st century,
It’s also very backward thinking and childish…
Just a thought..

I wonder if the bunch of idiots in Madrid have ever heard the old expression: when you are in a hole, stop digging?

Sep 21st, 2013 - 07:10 am - Link - Report abuse 0I'm sure I can see the sticky fingers of CFK and Timerman in this. We have the English on the back foot with our approach. You use it and see if it's successful for you too.
Sep 21st, 2013 - 10:16 am - Link - Report abuse 0Notice the similarities. Argieland ignores the UN Charter. So does Spain. Argieland ignores international law. So does Spain. Argieland goes for economic blockade. So does Spain. Argieland refuses to go to the ICJ. So does Spain. Argieland lies a lot. So does Spain. Argieland reports things with its own spin. So does Spain. Nearly forgot. Argieland passes laws that it would like to apply in the Falklands, but don't. Spain passes laws that it would like to apply in Gibraltar, but don't.
After hundreds of years, how come they can't yet understand that the harder they push, the more Brits resist?

i wonder how it will pan out.
ARGENTINE JUDGE ISSUES WARRANT FOR FRANCO’S THUGS
An Argentinean judge has issued an arrest warrant for four Spaniards accused of torturing opponents of the Franco regime.

The four, aged 66 to 78, are immune from prosecution in Spain
@5 Think about this. An argie judge issues an arrest warrant. For crimes that took place where? And Spain is going to extradite them? It's own nationals? Accused by a foreign country? Get real. Smoke and mirrors!
