Germany’s main oil company signs to operate in development of Patagonia’s Vaca Muerta shale deposits

Germany’s Wintershall sealed a 150 million dollar unconventional exploration contract with the Argentine province of Neuquén’s owned Gas y Petroleo de Neuquén to search for oil in the Vaca Muerta formation. The agreement could later be extended to 3.35bn. Read full article

    Maybe in a decade oil/gas will start to flow in meaningful amounts.
    Too bad for Argentina it can't wait a decade.

    If these companies are as good as their record says they won't do a thing until TMBOA is swinging of a drill derrick.

    Exploration can take a long long time, if they want it to.
    CFK is desperate to sign up companies to show progress and hand out PRs. sS all they have to do is slow walk everything until there is nothing left in the old wells or she is well and truely gone.
    It could be any time now
    I am not so sure she has the rights to sign away though. That is yet to be decided by ICSID and Repsol.
