There is no such thing as a free lunch. Everybody has to pay at some point. When it becomes a whole country that refuses to pay, then they end up in the same state as Argentina.
A country that has HUGE and VAST natural resources, that if properly managed would make Argentina one of the richest countries on earth, who could afford to have low taxes.
But what is Argentina? A badly mismanaged country, full of corruption, which implodes every decade, leaving the poor poorer, and the middle classes worse off.
Your infrastructure is crumbling. Your government is corrupt and has chased away foreign investment that could actually save you.
And all you can do is stand aside and applaud them for doing it.
You will pay for this, and so will your children and your children's children. All because you wanted something for nothing.
The world should make an example of Argentina and refuse to help you any more. You have shown yourselves to be a corrupt ungrateful nation and liars. You gladly accepted money from others, aggreeing to all of the conditions of the loans, knowing that you would renege on the agreements and wouldn't pay it back. That is stealing and it is a crime.
And on top of all this you cry out that you are the victims. Well you are not victims. I have no sympathy for you.
This looming default will really hurt you. Last time you defaulted on foreigners. This time you are defaulting on your own people. Soon there won't be enough money to buy fuel to keep the lights on. Soon there will be food shortages and riots.
Maybe one day, Argentina will remove these gangsters and vote in decent honest people, who ACTUALLY have the concerns of the people at heart. But there is no quick fix. No magic solution.
Fixing Argentina will take a lot or hardwork and sacrifice. But the truth is that the Argentine peope aren't prepared to work for a better life.

However, it does seem to be true. My mother-in-law earns the same amount now as she did when Menem was in power. That was 6 years after she started working and 20 years later she is earning the same but with 30% inflation to contend with. This is someone who doesn't mind sacrificing some of their pay packet to help those worse off but now she sees that nothing sustainable has happened. I've tried to tell her that there is another way, that the country doesn't have to be run like this and that it is highly educated people like her who can change things by voting another way or educating those around them so that they can see what an empty promise looks like, so that they can understand when policies aren't sustainable and so they know what an inflated economy looks like. However, life is hard, she works all hours God gives her to look after her family and provide, she has to contend with all of the crap that everyday Argentina throws at her and she just doesn't have the energy to go out and demand change. She doesn’t want to vote PRO as she has a social conscience but she feels that a vote for a smaller party is a wasted vote. I drew a graph for her of the increase in earnings and earning power of a similar person in the UK to Argentina in the last 26 years and she just looked at it and shook her head in disbelief. When this crash happens, it is decent people like her who will be destroyed and for what? So that the corrupt people in power can just get richer.

Argentina borrowed money. It borrowed money under certain legal terms. It knew these terms, it wasn't “tricked”, lied to, or “cheated”.
Argentina could not pay back these loans. it defaulted. If you or I did that we would have every possession we own taken from us until the debt was cleared....but no!
The very “cheats” and “tricksters” you complain about, let Argentina off the VAST MAJORITY of its debt, most agreed to take a very small % of what Argentina owed the. hardly tricksters and conmen, trolley, more like charities who saved your arse.
However, a few are holding out for what is ACTUALLY owed. So, rather than being trickster and conmen, these few are just asking for what Argentina agreed to pay, and is legally obliged to pay.
Everyone knows Argentina won't pay, it's unlikely even the charitable majority will get their share...Argentina as a country is dishonest, dishonourable lying and corrupt.
You could do so much better.
Now, before you go into some rant....when has the UK ever defaulted, when have we not met every single penny owed on any bond? Never, Ever...not charitable knock %'s but the full amount legally due.

Gun shops....New York...waste of time the most restrictive State there is, I think...need a licence for everything....handguns etc...can't open carry.
New Yorkers need to slip over to PA to buy a handgun without a permit...on the sly!
Even Crossbow hunting is illegal in the state of New York....
