“we never gave the Uruguayan government an ultimatum”.

So, the bullying didn't work this time.

When the bullying of a weaker neighbour fails, due to the simple expedient of standing up to the bully, the standard Argentine government operational procedure is to get out the white flag.

    “What me? No guv.”

    “Not Argentina's fault!”

    It never is.

”I’m going to wait a couple of days before returning to International Court in The Hague”.

Gollum:Oh wait-I'd better not-I wouldn't accept their judgement anyway and now someone has spoken up to me my legs are wobbling like jelly-Chrissie, chrissie, where are you? That nasty Pepe has said something horrible to me!

CFK: Oh Hector do man up! You're worrying about Pepe when the Usurping Pirates have militarised the South Atlantic with two more dogs!
    Gollum: Er, the UN?
CFK: Yes, tommorow, come on Hector hurry hurry, you can take Tango 1
    Gollum: Silence..................

2 years to wait for a reply to a request?

By all means take this issue to the ICJ Argentina.

MP is some 5 days late with this news.

Let me update you lot a bit on the matter.

Mujica's latest statements are that nobody (in the government) should respond to any commentaries, but only on the facts such as test results.

I agree, an action that minimizes the possibilities of division.

Hector (what day of the week is it?) Timerman.

The man is an Argentine national treasure.

@5 Can you read the second paragraph? Seems to be saying exactly what you're saying MP isn't saying.

Whatever you say about Mujica's inadequacies, Chris, this seems the correct positioning; his responses are worthy of Foreign Secretary Hague.

I am very pleased with Pepe's response to Gollum: it was measured, thoughtful and timely.

It was also amusing since Pepe is an atheist, or has he seen the light since his meeting with the Popsicle?

We just have to wait for Amagro to return and upset the situation by sucking up to Gollum. He is more than capable of it.
