I always thought USA and Europe should dump Saudi Arabia as an ally, an ally that does all the contrary to what the former ones pretend to stand for.

And today, Saudia Arabia dumps USA as an ally

Though the Saudis may have a point regarding Obama's pathetic handling of the Syrian crisis and about the hypocrisy of the international community, they will have to soon wake up to the fact that the US will be needing them ever less in the future http://www.foreignpolicy.com/articles/2013/10/16/the_end_of_opec_america_energy_oil?page=0,2

The Saudi “royal family” (spit) have for years and continue to finance the most radical Jihadist morons on the planet. You name the conflict with “insults” to the Prophet (urine and faeces be upon him) and they have financed the “retribution”.

They need to be very careful that the US doesn’t drop them, and then drop a bomb or two on them.

Biggest glass table in the world if they don't rein in the mad fuckers, and soon.

We thinks the days of the all powerful oil rich nations of the middle east is fast coming to an end,

If they don’t change their ways and attitudes they will fall back to their old tribal ways and end up in the same basket as Syria and Libya and a few others.

The outer world is finding their own resources now, and need Arabia less and less.

I can't see why the Arab Leaugue can't sort out Syria.

I think Saudi Arabia misunderstands the UN. The UN is just an international forum, a talking shop. It has neither the means nor the authority to impose a “solution” to the crisis in Syria. It can only facilitate an agreement between the various Syrian factions if the factions themselves are willing to accept a ceasefire and negotiate in good faith.

Peace in Northern Ireland was not achieved by the UK Government imposing a solution on the two sides. It was achieved because the elected representatives of both the catholic and protestant communities (especially Sinn Fein and the DUP) were willing to negotiate and make hard compromises. They were also prepared to accept a ceasefire during the negotiations and to reach out and persuade their respective communities and supporters to accept the final peace proposals. I see no evidence that either side in Syria, particularly the Assad regime, is serious about a negotiated solution.

If China and Russia (Syria’s ally) simply vetoes any proposal than what is the USA supposed to do?

Since the Arab league itself is divided on this issue how can the Saudis then criticise the UN.

I agree. I think more an invasion or war will not solve. We have to continue the story. She always taught us that it is good to have peace.

War is always a bad choice.

You're wrong, war is sometimes necessary when it is fought for the right reasons and when you fight a war you fight to win.

There is no winnable war to be fought in Syria, you either have a murderous dictatorship or jihadist loonatics running the place. The is why the UK parliament said no thanks, not this time.

    Just a suggestion.

p.s. For the House of Saud might I proffer the following “Allah save King Abdullah” and “We love MacDonalds!”.
