U.S. and Europe talks advance towards liberalizing bilateral trade

A week of trade talks in Brussels have taken the European Union and the United States a little closer to a deal to liberalize bilateral trade. EU officials say the trade relationship with the US is already the biggest in the world, worth more than 2bn Euros a day, but barriers remain, and removing them could make it even bigger. If it happens, the agreement would be huge, capable of changing the shape of global trade. Read full article

    Just look at that. EU talks with mercosur have been going on since 1995. Negotiations with the United States started in July. I reckon we can safely say that, once the EU-U.S. agreement is in place, there will be no necessity for anything with mercosur. But important members of the EU are now looking at the Pacific Alliance. Mercosur can't even trade fairly with itself!

    And there was everyone saying the Euro wasn't going to survive as a currency.
