“The most important thing is that the biggest factor causing discomfort to our exporters has been resolved.”

I guess Pimentel means the chucking out of a bit of Argentinian 'dead-wood' and its replacement with Cabinet Chief Jorge Capitanich and Economy Minister Axel Kicillof.

Let's hope he's right, and a million shoes and spare parts can blossom.

    @5 I remember that. “We're winning. We're winning. We're winning. Oh. We lost!” 1982 wasn't it?

Funny, I didn't even realize that no Mercosur, EU, or USA products could get into Argentina the last week.

And I thought you were indispensable for our survival, your crappy products?

You are irrelevant. Argentina is self-sufficient in all that matters: food and water.

    To all the Brazilian Exporters:
Make sure you get paid in US Dollars BEFORE you send the thieving bastards anything!

Otherwise they will have you products AND the money.

But you knew that didn't you, just like everybody else in the World does?

That's right - all you need to survive is food, water and basic shelter.
But if you want to live in a modern, thriving country then you also need infrastructure, commerce, safe and efficient transport, rule of law and political stability. Without these things then feudalism is the best you can hope for. I would say “but then you knew that”, however you may be simply reflecting a genuine ignorance of how the world works. If that is the case then I hope you are a fast learner when your foreign reserves run out.

“Argentina is self-sufficient in all that matters: food and water.”

Right but we cant even manage that part. Here in Mendoza we get water outages due to the crumbling infrastructure and 50% food price inflation.

Even if we could manage the food and water part, we still need security and so many other basics. Crime is out of control, the police do little or nothing.

We need help and lots of it. It will take years to repair the damage done in the last 10 year. Everyone, except the complete fools, know that we need to trade with the world. Thankfully we have just signed up to the WTO agreement to normalize import procedures.

Stay in your cave, interact with no one - you and all will be happier.

Also I got confused when they said they had sunk HMS Invincible 5 times when I saw her return to port-I'm still wondering where the mega salvage ship we must have had disappeared to.

It is also confusing every time Gollum announces another country has supported the Malvinas fantasy, when a swift look at the 'supporting' country's newspapers, seems to omit what Gollum claims.

@18 I thought I'd mentioned this before. There was no mega salvage ship. It was all down to the industrial resources of the United Kingdom, many of them underground, and superior shipbuilding skills. As HMS Invincible left port, work began on constructing a replacement. Materials etc also came from underground. You can't see a mine if it starts a hundred feet down. Once completed, the new ship was transported, in sections and mostly underwater, to the Caribbean where there are many “lonely” islands. Once the “new” ship was bolted together, it only had to wait until it was needed. Back in the UK, mining had continued and the shipbuilding restarted as soon as the “second” Invincible was towed out. Even lost track of how many were built. Five, was it? One every 14 days!

Also, when you look for Gollum's support, you may be looking in the wrong place. The best place to look is the last two or three pages. You will find many references to “support” and “supporters”. Argieland isn't stupid. These references are disguised as soccer reports and scores. Mind you, sometimes he gets confused. And then you get him indicating “joint” action and his under-17 reserves looking confused.
