The Argentine Central Bank, starved of dollars and declining international reserves started to trade new short-term dollar-denominate bonds in order to encourage the farm sector to sell the crops they are still holding on to. It is estimated that over 3bn dollars in mainly soybeans remain in the hands of farmers and cereal exporters. Read full article

Dec 14th, 2013 - 09:45 am - Link - Report abuse 0The history of the management of their currency is a horror show that cannot end until they adopt conventional policies and certainly not with a Marxist in charge.
What's so magical about U$30B? The farmers would be idiots to sell at the current rate when they know the peso is in free fall. The current reserve balance put the value of the peso at 11/1. It will only go down more next year.
Dec 14th, 2013 - 10:13 am - Link - Report abuse 0The gov't may charge them with treason and confiscate the grains and farms though.

Tip for potential investors. These are argie bonds. It only takes a couple of days for argieland to decide to renege on bond payments. Then argieland can pass a law making it all legal. You've been warned.

Dec 14th, 2013 - 02:29 pm - Link - Report abuse 0So, nothing to do with the disaster that TMBOA and the rest of the cretins did to the economy then?
You would think that ALL this money belonged to the “Government” instead of just the taxes involved. Ahhh! Just spotted it! TMBOA is going to do a YPF with the farmers only this time confiscating the stuff once the taxes have been paid so leaving the farmers with nothing.
That will make great sense for next year – only TMBOA won’t be in power much longer so why should she care?

Argentine central bank issues hard currency bonds hoping to lure cereal exporters
The relevance of your post to the above is what ?

Dec 14th, 2013 - 03:36 pm - Link - Report abuse 0What is the relevance of this news to the Falkland Islands, in the South Atlantic News Agency?
According to poor demented Tobias (#5) The Argentine Central Bank will try to get North American farmers to sell their harvest against Argentine bonds - why else would he write about The Argentine Central Bank?

Dec 14th, 2013 - 10:16 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I did not realise that MercoPress was only for the discussion on topics about the Falklands If you look at the sub headings under Falklands, you will see that this article DOES NOT APPEAR. It appears under Economy.
What relevance is news from the USA or the UK to you, although you continually troll through news items that have nothing to do with the S.Atlantic issues.
Following your logic why do Argy. posters comment on news about the Falklands, or Spain, Gibraltar etc.
ps Surely the Greek should be Giorgios...at least that is how it was spelled all the times I have been in Crete, Cyprus, Lesvos, Rhodes, Corfu, Simi, Halkidiki, Santorini and the Greek mainland ?
This British commercial at 1:04 rests the case of the obsession of the British with argentine humans.

The representation at 1:04 is to be Maradona.
It's meant to be poking fun at the infamous hand of god incident.
Nothing to do with hatred of Argentine humans, just that particular Argentine cheat!
Humans do have strange ways of communicating animus. It would be far more direct to utilize Annunaki trans-quantum telephathy, but we as a species have yet to even develop energy to matter furnices, so that's a long way off.
Dec 15th, 2013 - 07:36 am - Link - Report abuse 0In the meantime, it would seem the non-argentine humans should leave the Argentines alone, they clearly do not need outsiders, and the only outsiders that could help are the ones that regularly pay visits at Cerro Uritorco near Capilla del Monte.
Too bad the park was closed by the authorities when the trans-dimensional portal opened on Dec 21 of last year. I would have loved to see an Annunaki, or even just a Grey.

Famous last words!
Do you remember the phone video I posted from another site from an argie on his way to work when all of a sudden the dark early morning light was lit up like the mid-summer sun by the biggest short to earth flash I have EVER seen in my life, followed by a massive fire in the area around the plant?
It turned out the idiots in charge of the generating plant had shorted the main alternator and blown it and the related transformers (all three of them) to atoms.
How I laughed when the “authorities” said normal output was expected ‘soon’. SOON FFS! You have to laugh at the stupidity of these people in charge of these dangerous LARGE bits of kit when they do these tricks.
You never know they might repeat the trick soon! Ha, ha, ha.
like the mid-summer sun
Dec 15th, 2013 - 06:18 pm - Link - Report abuse 0What you you know of a flash like a thousand suns?
From the ancient Mahabharata:
...a single projectile charged with all the power of the Universe. An incandescent column of smoke and flame As bright as the thousand suns Rose in all its splendour… a perpendicular explosion with its billowing smoke clouds… …the cloud of smoke rising after its first explosion formed into expanding round circles like the opening of giant parasols… ..it was an unknown weapon, an iron thunderbolt, a gigantic messenger of death, which reduced to ashes The entire race of the Vrishnis and the Andhakas. …The corpses were so burned as to be unrecognizable. The hair and nails fell out; Pottery broke without apparent cause, And the birds turned white. After a few hours All foodstuffs were infected… …to escape from this fire, the soldiers threw themselves in streams to wash themselves and their equipment. Until the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki, modern mankind could not imagine any weapon as horrible and devastating as those described in the ancient Indian texts. Yet, they very accurately described the effects of an atomic explosion. Radioactive poisoning will make hair and nails fall out. Immersing oneself in water gives some respite, though it is not a cure.
