“We missed an opportunity to show the world what we can do in this country,”
No, you showed the world your limitations. You showed the world exactly what you can, and can't, do.
That's all. Love for the beautiful game is just not enough. Should never have been awarded it. I dread to consider the Olympics, although the stadia should be ready for the football by then...

We are what we want to be, by the time we want, the way we want. Because we are free and sovereign.
When you begin to pay for my lunch, I promise to listen to your critics.

Yes, you are free to embarrass yourself.

I'll buy you lunch if you like. Some of us do have disposable income. I frequently give to charity. What's yours called?

#2 Are you trying to say you're happy with Brazil's current situation? Brazil has amongst the highest levels of income inequality and crime (as probed by the homicide rate) in the world.

I'm happy to say that I'm not happy with everything in the UK.

I had no problem with Brazil being awarded the world cup but hadn't realised they'd make such a mess of it. I guess we'll know how much of a mess in 5 months. Maybe they'll turn it around but the omens aren't good.

The Confederations Cup was unsuccessful. Empty arenas, thousands dead in the streets, falling aircraft, etc ...and Brazil champion.

@2 I am paying for your lunch. Check out “british foreign aid to Brazil”. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2079628/Britain-STILL-giving-foreign-aid-Brazil--richer-are.html
Hypocrite. Now pay attention when you're being spoken to.
@6 You mean you killed off the competition! That's not “champion”, that “survivor”! Why can't you mount something we'd like to watch. Street battles with AK-47s. Molotov cocktails. Torture. Instant replays. Competition to join in? Can you kill more than 100 people a week? Go to Brazil, you are NEEDED!

Yes, it has been a fiasco so far but the problem lies with the government. I remember one official seemingly bragging that Brazil always starts late but always finishes on time.

I should have asked “whose time?”

Mind you, it’s not important; it’s only a footie match, isn’t it?

    Ha, ha, ha.

    @ 7 Conq.
    Lol! Too true!
Global TV schedules will not wait for Brazil. If they are not on time, the games will not be shown, Brazil will have broken it's contract with FIFA etc. and then... oh you know the rest...
    Fingers crossed !!

    @6

    “d Brazil champion”

There's no doubt your football teams and players have always been fantastic -pity how your country thinks that wrecking the Amazon rainforest is a good idea when it could be making money leaving it alone-great football team the jury's out on your government, but fair play Brazil way ahead of Argentina.

As you are so rich, it's high time the British government stopped sending aid to your ungrateful nation.

I was pleasantly surprised to see that Carlos Alberto Parreira (Brazil's asstnt coach) had the balls to say what he did...he'll probably get a rap on the knuckles for being so honest.....
And last of all, don't bother buying lunch for THIS particualr Brazzo , the one that spouts out all his bravado in #2 & 6....let him keep feeding himself out of the toilet...as they say, “you are what you eat”.

Stadiums are one thing, moving hundreds of thousands of football fans by plane and bus, and feeding and housing them is another..
