A group of bondholders that entered the restructuring of Argentine debt in 2005 and 2010 have presented their own appeal before the United States Supreme Court, in the case involving the so-called holdout hedge funds. The petition, made public on Thursday, mirrors a similar appeal carried out on Tuesday by the Argentine government. Read full article

Gramercy, Cleary Gottlieb, ck, kicillof - all these shysters argument like babies: always the same wrong nonsense: ´when arg pays the holdouts in full this would affect further restructurings of countries.´
all the judges meanwhile know this wrong argumentation, from Griesa to the High Court. Most of all state bonds have so called ´cacs´, clauses which allow the states to vote with a majority of the bondholders to make a default and a debt restructuring or not. the small bondholders in this case come off worst.

Its such a convoluted argument that it can not be taken seriously.
If you make us pay “now” we'll default.
maybe that wasn't the case 3 years ago tho and maybe not tomorrow
    Just now
    Argentina defaulting is irrelevant.

The law firm working for Argentina is creative I will give them that.
I am sure they know they are going to lose
I am sure they don't care
    They've already spent the retainer

This is a new slant on “the law”. How does it go? “We got forced into this restructuring by argieland and lost loads of money. Now these other people come along who refused to be forced and want to be paid in full.” I don't understand the argument. “We are losers. Now we want you to make some other people into losers so that we don't feel so bad”. Sorry. The only convincing bit of your argument is “We are losers”. Perhaps if you'd had a bit more in the way of guts!

This just goes on and on. Loaning money to or buying bonds from Argentina is a total disaster.

“Psst. They don't pay you back with money. They pay you back with migraine headaches.”

Except that Argentina paying its debts to the holdouts does not excuse it paying its debt to the exchange group.
