Will there be a seat for a Falkland Islander MLA at the meeting between Minister Swire and Roberto Kreimerman, Uruguayan Minister for Energy, Ministry & Minerals? After all the UK govt. insists that the islanders have to be represented when their affairs are discussed.

I doubt if they are going to be discussing sovereignity, since as I understand it Uruguay is not advancing a sovereignity claim, although it apparently has a better one than Argentina.

The only reason the twat Almagro will be in the meeting is if Dante’s Inferno (Argie Ambassador) tells him TMBOA wants him in there to be a spy.

I must admit to being an admirer of Swire’s in that he can even bring himself to be in the same room as most of these commie bastard Tupamaros knowing full well they DAREN’T say two words of encouragement to him without the twat Almagro dobbing them in. His training by the F&CO will of course enable him to deal these people without upsetting them.

The ONLY people who think this “government” has ANY credibility are those who know nothing about them. I know different since living here.

Best of luck Foreign Office Minister Swire, I am confident you will do well.

@1 There doesn't seem to be any suggestion that Falklands affairs will be discussed. Nothing to do with lame-duck Uruguay anyway!

Obviously it’s not ok with you guy,

Tough luck springs to mind lol..

Not that it would influence Uruguay.

Excellent efforts by Minister Swire in even going on the trip!
Proud to be getting out and about securing new business.
    Expected outcome?
More future trade for the UK and Chile and Uruguay. Deepening of diplomatic ties. Greater cultural understanding. More opportunities for international student exchanges.
    For starters!

Well done Minister Swire. As ElaineB might say, a good example of Soft Power in action. Something the K gang will never understand.

(And who will be impotently looking on? Hmm. .. the usual suspects I guess. .)

    Reality @ 13

Ask anyone who survived the blitz in a major British city. Ask any Falklander who survived 1982. The point is not giving in to fear.

“Will there be a seat for a Falkland Islander MLA at the meeting between Minister Swire and Roberto Kreimerman”

“With the aim of developing further the trade and investment links between the UK and Uruguay.”

Why would an MLA be present if links between the UK and Uruguay are discussed?

Poll shows that 80% of Uruguayans disagree with Gov't policy regarding Falklands and favor more trade with the islands.
