The Spanish government is using the full force of the law to suffocate legitimate peaceful protest, Amnesty International in Spain has said. Jezerca Tigani, Europe and Central Asia Deputy Program Director for Amnesty, published a brief report last week in which he said that the excessive use of force by Spanish police and plans to strengthen repressive legislation are a damning indictment of the Spanish government’s determination to crush peaceful protest. @3 Strangely, the British police are one of the few where personnel are generally unarmed. Not something that can be said for argieland or spain. But argieland and spain still have riots. And far more riots than in Britain. Just look at that. 15,000 demonstrations in spain. How many in argieland? 20,000? Or are there no figures? Because you murdered them all. Plenty of reports of your goons murdering indigenous people in the line of duty.

We know you hate us, that's fine, we have big shoulders, but the Guardia Civil are a military founded police force, they operate in Spain in a very similar way as the SS did in Nazi Germany. They are extremely unaccountable in their actions in Spain
As much as I respect Amnesty International. I find that they are not on the ball on this one. They should have their eyes wide open and see that these are not ordinary
May 01st, 2014 - 10:38 pm - Link - Report abuse 0-peaceful demonstrations on a Sunday afternoon!!-The facts speak for themselves as we see that there are anarchists and left wing terrorists infiltrating demonstrations to cause as much mayhem as possible and it is happening all over Europe. In the last Madrid demonstration the anarchists were out to kill the police. One of the anarchists taken down by police had tried
to kill a police officer by smashing rocks on his head!!!! something that Amnesty International has forgotten to mention.
So it is not strange that the Law and Order intelligence police units are getting tougher with these lot....

*7 comparing the Guardia Civil with the SS!!?? ummm COME ON!!
@8 I think it depends on your experiences, in Portugal we have the GNR, a friend of mine was stopped for not having his lights on on his motorbike in broad daylight. He was stopped by having a gun pointed at his head by a young 20 something GNR officer. When my mate had pulled himslef together (he was a bit taken aback), he asked the young man why he thought it was necessary to pull a gun on him, the officer just laughed at him, walked away and took a call on his mobile.
May 02nd, 2014 - 08:44 am - Link - Report abuse 0Unfortunately, experiences like that with the 'Militia' type police, are becoming more common in some counties, they abuse their power and think they are themselves above the law. There has to be a balance, use force when necessary, but as they said in the article 99% of the demonsrations are peaceful, they must know which ones are likely to 'kick off' and should treat those accordingly
