The Mercosur - EU agreement covers '90%' of all traded products so, if it is effected, it will make this trade much more rewarding than Brasil's embargoed trade with Argentina.

It is to be hoped that Brasil will remove the majority of its trade with Argentina and transfer it to EU countries. The quality of EU products is massively better than that from Argentina so it seems a win win arrangement for everybody except Argentina (who Brasil tried to protect itself from itself for years; the time has come for this kissing to stop).

It's doubtful if the mercosur “proposals” will be acceptable. And I doubt whether argieland will comply with any “agreement” for more than 12 months. One breach and argieland is OUT. Two and it ends! Nothing in latam can be trusted.

It must be in the Espanol, as usual:
“(the) proposal will cover a universe of 90% of bilateral trade with the EU”

Good job it’s not a 100% or we would fall off the edge of the known universe! :o)

After soy and the rest of the agrigoods what is Brazil going to export that the EU will want?

No cars will get there from any existing EU based producer; they cannot afford to upset the market balance in Europe. I suppose some semi-finished and fully-finished generic auto parts might make it but A&P of Leamington have got the premium after-market and the Chin have got the rest.

    And, it’s only taken 15 years(ish).

I do hope that Astori has made a better job of the due diligence needed than he did with the Pluna fiasco which fell at the first hurdle with the incorrect answer to “are these guys crooks”, it should have been YES.
