This MUST be a joke. Almagro, Argentina’s Rent-boy, like the majority of the businesses here just does not know what “customer service” is, or even what a customer is in most government owned businesses except ANTEL.

“information and communication technology (ICT); logistics and transport, financial services and businesses services.”

This sounds good and someone not used to Uruguay or SA in general might be fooled that what they are about to experience is close to the western standard. Ha, ha, ha.

It is very frustrating even to find businesses who can understand what I, as the customer, want. “90% is perfection” seems to be the mantra of most GOOD businesses and I have only found a handful that match up to western standards.

ALL businesses are stymied at every turn by the dead hand of government bureaucracy in the form of taxes and high cost Intendencia “inspections” which do NOTHING for the business.

Looking positively at it though, should Uruguay “join” they will be in for a real shock if they want any business out of it. It could be the start of a customer facing revolution but I am a realist so I am not hopeful.
