Wonder what they have to say now?
Good call by the US btw.
Do something useful and sensible. Embargo and blockade.
May 29th, 2014 - 11:45 am - Link - Report abuse 0The best action by the USA would be to stopping buying/refining Venezuelan oil.
May 29th, 2014 - 11:50 am - Link - Report abuse 0No point with other trade embargoes as the economic mismanagement has already put paid to trade. Why else does Venezuela have such a massively high 'scarcity index?
The best way to bring about regime change is to cut-off the oil trade.
This is a Applehood and Mother Pie bill. It is going nowhere.

The Maduro government has approved 43 million bolívares - over 5 million euros - to finance a soap opera that will portray Venezuela's War of Independence. Of course, we can expect the story to follow the usual myths that the Venezuelan military and pseudo-historians have propagated since that war ended.
Yet this time around with added Chavismo.
Currently Venezuelan patients have to pay on average around €116 for stuff like blood tests and others in the free health system. Current minimum wage is 4,252 bolivars.
At 'parallel' rate that is Euro 43.83 per month minimum wage.
Meanwhile; The “Boligarchs,” as Venezuelans refer to those who have wittingly benefited from the looting of their nation, who have amassed fortunes exceeding $1-2 billion, in many cases, from illegitimate awards of government contracts, from kickbacks and other gifts to government officials and from other unethical and immoral activities.
Another reason Maduro and his cronies must go.
@1 Yes they should stop buying/refining the oil, but then we all know how much Americans love their oil.

The little understood secret. Venezuela's oil exports to US hit 28 yr low. In other words, Maduro's dollars are slipping away. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-01-30/venezuela-oil-exports-to-u-s-hit-lowest-rate-since-1985.html And little known by most Yankee bashers, the US refined a good deal of gasoline for Venezuela last year to while their refineries were down, thus averting more social unrest & helping Maduro keep his job, at least for a while longer. Venezuelan officials continue to deny this fact. http://www.bloomberg.com/news/2014-01-30/venezuela-oil-exports-to-u-s-hit-lowest-rate-since-1985.html

I just hope you do not live in Latin America. The security forces will be looking for you.
Keep safe bro!
I have wanted to talk about this but I have family there. (Seriously).
Officially speaking, This must never be spoken of !
Don't you understand!
How dare you undermine the glorious Bolivarian Revolution! You ungrateful bastard!
How dare you speak the truth!
The XL pipeline from Canada will take up all of our capacity to refine heavy oil so V will be out. They better hope the Chinese get their refineries up and running before we build the pipeline.
May 30th, 2014 - 10:07 am - Link - Report abuse 0China will then be the only country that has the capacity to refine the V muck into something useable. I wonder how much they'll end up paying? Probably not a lot.
What a mess. It will take generations to fix what Chavez ruined.
I've pulled out now (business-wise) from Venezuela.
May 30th, 2014 - 11:15 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Still have property there, but basically worthless because I can't sell it.
gotta wait and see how long it takes for Chavismo to self-implode before any further ventures.....
