New York District judge Thomas Griesa has scheduled a hearing at 4 pm local time on Friday to address Argentina's recent public statements over their attempts to pay creditors, a court official said. So lets get this straight...
Argentina agrees to the authority of a NY court.
However Argentina fails to attend meetings and blames everyone else including the Judge and the appointed Arbitrator.
Argentina refuses to meet face to face with the people it owes money to.
Just like it ran away from talks when Falkland Islanders would be present.
So now the court has found against Argentina, Argentina is now attacking the Country.
I can only take it that Argentina is just crazy.

OK so far what have we got…..

1)Argentina goes to the US Security Exchange Commission to investigate any fraud done by the Holdouts in regards to the CDS..

2)Now the Obama Govt that stood by Kirchner and called for SCOTUS to take the case is denounced in The Hague

3)While Brazil and Argentina run their anti Israeli campaign, Argentina govt is negotiating with a top Israeli private intelligence company doing some work on Elliot and Singer.

@1 that just about sums up the situation.

Rather than say the Argentine government is crazy, I think it's the case that they are playing to the gallery of domestic public opinion. Given the educational standards of the mass population I can see how that might work - but it doesn't explain why the likes of the BA Herald can't / aren't seeing through it all. Their editorials and the comments they run from local 'experts' appear broadly supportive or at least understanding of the government's position. Go figure.

“Argentina asked the world court in The Hague to launch proceedings against the United States ...”

That's the joke of the century.

Argentina breaches since 2002 the bond contracts, repudiates the repayment of the debt to the holdouts, and now complains that the U.S. court asks it to repay.

I'm curious to see how President Obama will react...

@4. This is easy. The U.S. only accepts ICJ jurisdiction on a case by case basis. Therefore “The United States does not accept ICJ jurisdiction in this matter”. Over and done.

IF these cretins have authorised a top Israeli intelligence company to investigate Singer then they had better have a set of top grade body armour each and wear it night and day.

Singer is a billionaire, before long he will own a lot of The Dark Country's assets.

Just imagine the options open to his security people for hiring deniable assassins to deal with TMBOA and other people he wants gone from the planet.

If they keep on with the Hague nonsense the CIA may even do the deed for him as a little present from Obuma.

TMBOA really knows how to win friends and influence people, NOT.

Griesa is a lion. He stares down the whole of ROTTING ROADKILL and the entire world press - including the Washington Post and the New York Times - and NEVER blinks so much as an eye or in any way compromises his integrity or civility.

His stock among jurists and serious scholars has obviously risen in a dramatic fashion. Were it not for his age he would be a serious candiate for appointment to a higher position in the next administration.

To call him cool under the withering fire of a constant barrage of insult, half-truths, out right lies and contempt directed at him by a miscreant defendant (and adjudged serial defaulter) is an understatement of the first order. And the restraint he has demonstrated is this matter is the stuff of future legends.

Asside from the relative merits of the case - which obviously fall of the side of the plaintiffs (as Griesa has correctly ascertained) - the demeanor of the participants reveals much. Obama has tried to contravene the constitutional separation of powers and exert undue influence in this and other matters judicial. Griesa again stands as a beacon for justice and the rule of law and as an example of how to conduct one's self within polite society.

Judge Griesa, we need more of your type to step forward and challenge this internation reign of corruption and economic terrorism waged by rogue states and their leaders against the people of the world and even their own citizenry.

    We salute you!

Its not very clear if they want to just simlpy gather intelligence about Singer and Elliot or want to hit back in some other way.

    @ 9 CabezaDura2

The one can so easily turn into the other.

That could be a fatal decision for TMBOA and any of the crooks who support her in any agressive action against Singer himself.

She would have to pay to have it done because there is nobody in The Dark Country with the balls to tackle it from what I have seen over the last three and a quarter years.

How I would love to see it though. The retaliation for any attempt would be spectacular. :o)

She is cornered at the moment, she is clearly sick and insane therefore she is very unpredictable.

In Argentina the gossip afternoon showmans Rial & Ventura work for the politicians as hetmans as well as getting paid by the intelligence offices not to let loose stories of their politicians and govt officials related to hookers, non recognized kids and drugs and so on…
That is their modus operandi in Argentina in doors.

I believe that they may contact the Israelis to do that kind of dirty laundry search for them internationally and then make it public somewhere.

This hearing is going to declare Argentina in contempt of the Us Supreme court ruling. Buenos aires start to switch off the lights because the night cometh for you.

The USA refuses the jurisdiction of the Hague and asks Argentina to negociate with its creditors.

Not the USA asking Arg to negotiate. Rather, the US Fed District CT Dist of NY.
You see, in the US there is a division of power so as to maintain checks and balances on the usurpation of too much power by one branch of government. Whatever else can be said about the USA, and there is a lot of negative stuff, the structure of its government set forth in the cUS Constitution has served its people well. Argentina would do well to adopt similar checks and balances because it strikes me that the Executive runs rampant over the other two branches.

@14 In paper Argentina has most of the same checks and balances the Americans have, problem is in practice the President can just phone their servants in Congress and tell them what to vote, and their judges what to rule. I don't think the representative system we borrowed from Europe will ever work well in Argentina, political parties are way too clannish here and think like hive-minds, there are too many obvious conflicts of interests. Ideally there should be a radically different constitution where even executive and military power should be distributed among conflicting parties so that only through civil war someone can become too powerful.

The military should never be in the equation of governmental power....ever. The hive mentality is a direct reaction to the corruption that is so pervasive in Argentina. Change that and you change for the better.
