The Chilean community in the Falkland Islands celebrated their country’s independence day on Thursday 18 September with a reception hosted by H E the Governor Colin Roberts at Government House, and a party at the Narrows Bar.
In Chile the occasion is a weeklong celebration but in the Falklands the happy revelers must settle for something a little more conservative. Over 330 Chileans live and work in the Falkland Islands, making it the largest foreign community, excluding BOT St Helena.
