    In the 1950's, under Nikita Chrushchev, the Soviets attempted to grow corn on a large scale as a cash crop to try and improve living standards. It was a failure, of course, but it was impressive what uses they tried to find for corn while they were still pushing it.

    Maybe the Whacky Leadership is trying to smoke it...?

    At current prices and the tax I dont think many Argentine farmers will be planting soya as a first crop this year.

    4. Even if they wanted to they can't get loans and from what I hear there are no parts for tractors or tires in the country.
