The second-oldest vessel in the Naval Service, veteran tanker RFA Black Rover, a well known presence in the Falkland Islands, has completed her penultimate deployment, a marathon of 17 months in the Atlantic. No Royal Navy vessel can carry out a patrol in the Southern Hemisphere without the support of a Royal Fleet Auxiliary tanker – a duty performed in recent years by a Rover-class vessel. Well as the argentine navy never ventures far from shore not really a problem is while the Royal Navy still crosses the world.
How your ice breaker coming along?
    Royal Navy has one
British science has two and ordered a new one for £400million slightly less than you've spent failing to put nearly a 35 year old icebreaker back together unsuccesfully?

Are there any 'argy' navy ships in the South Atlantic? Or anywhere else?
Often the presence of the Royal Navy prevents any problems.
    It is called a deterrent.
    :)

You seem to have missed the point. The RFA Black Rover is a REFUELING TANKER so the RN Vessels have NO NEED to visit S.America for refueling or supplies. I realise that the idea of a navy that sails on the world's oceans is a concept you cannot understand, having virtually no navy in Argentina.
As long as they stay outside your territorial waters then you have no complaints and also it is none of your business.

    @5
'who says the UK can make “security operations”'

Umm, my guess is that the UK says it can. If you have a problem with that you are welcome to have a fight with the Royal Navy. It is what they are for, and rather good at it!

“And we’ve spent a significant amount of time at sea sailing around the South Atlantic supporting both the Royal Navy and foreign warships, as well as carrying out maritime security operations ourselves”.

    1. they have nothing to do in the south atlantic.
they belong to the north atlantic, you know where the uk is?
    2.supporting foreign warships?
and who the fuck told them to support foreign warships?

“blablabla...and raising over £1,000 for charity during our 40th birthday at sea”
i raised over U$S5000 for charity and i do not make all that noise, you nabos.
to do charity, you have to do it with discretion.

    my god...

    1. They belong where-ever the choose to belong. By the report above they have been in the Pacific, North and South Atlantic,
Looks like they go where they want to go. Looks like they have plenty to 'do' in the South Atlantic.
    2. ever heard of NATO? maybe you have heard of Spain? Spanish ships Tornado and Rayo were refuelled. It says it quite clearly in the article.

Cretin paul has no credibility all he does is knock the UK, I believe he is soooo jealous, Paul do you think that the Royal Navy phones the warships and says“ do you want refuelling?” Don't think so, I would imagine that the Spanish Navy would be able to contact the British Navy and ask for fuel, What do you say to that?

Paul-carrion has a very provincial outlook, and very limited horizons, obviously. He wouldn't understand about international cooperation between NATO member countries, or about International Maritime Law.
Or how anyone can sail about in International Waters. As long as they have the means and the desire to! There is no reason why the military of China, Russia, Japan or The Gabon, or Switzerland can't sail into the South Atlantic. You just need to have a Navy!
He views the world through the wrong end of a telescope and believes that the rest of the world is similar to Argentine standard practices and procedures.
I have attempted to help educate him in the past, but now he is all hate, bitterness and the envy.
    Sad.

Anyway, glad that the ship's company made it home safe and sound after their epic 17 month tour.

I look forward to seeing more news of the Royal Navy in the South Atlantic soon.
HMS Dragon is the fourth of the Royal Navy's six Type 45 air defence destroyers. She is currently on Atlantic Patrol Tasking (South). She provides ongoing protection and reassurance to British interests in the South Atlantic, maintaining the continuous Royal Naval presence in the Atlantic.
Namely, to make sure you Argies behave yourselves and also to protect all the very important British trade links.
I suggest you be a very good boy.

    Type 45 Destroyer
Daring Class Destroyers are part of the backbone of the Royal Navy, committed around the world 365 days a year hunting pirates, drug runners or submarines, defending the Fleet from air attack, and providing humanitarian aid after natural disasters.

Don't forget the UK has 6 of these beauties...
... best you be a very obedient little boy....

@3, 5. RFA Black Rover is so much more. Armed. Royal Marines. The equivalent of an argie frigger... sorry, frigate. Except that it hasn't sunk.
@11. “and who the fuck told them to support foreign warships?” We did. Because there's nothing in latam to stop us. And we'll go where we like when we like. Unless you'd like everything within 900 miles of your coastline to be destroyed. No problem. Just target practice.

And you don't have 'a god'. You have the paedophile Satan. But we can cut that little problem off you.

@15. Pablo has little idea. In a reversal, the Royal Air Force combat aircraft outnumber the argie gliders by five to one. The Royal Navy outnumbers the argie rowboats by at least three to one. The argie 'army' is a joke. One troop of Challenger MBTs should be enough to, literally, crush the argie army.

    @ 17 Conqueror
    “the argie gliders”

Where the hell did they come from?

Anything the argies have they call an 'aeroplane' simply means it has fractured wings and frames plus engines that are so badly time expired that the blades don't know what to do next: stay on the rotor core, fly off, shatter: the only thing they won't do is bend, OH and they won't propel the plane either.

Yes, they will glide alright, just like a brick.

Argentina is pretty much over. Divide it up between Chile and Brazil. .
Give Paraguay a chunk for good measure.

Actually, it has been refuelling all the nuclear penguins that are strategically dotted on rocks and icebergs all around the South Atlantic. Be afraid Argieland, be very afraid...

...don't forget the Death Star, the huge NATO base and the underground secret nuclear missile silos... or is that all just more propaganda from from La Casa Rosada? I certainly hope not.
So in summary, Argentina is broke, in default, has no Navy, is not allowed to replenish its Airforce, ('coz the UK won't allow it), has a weakened Army, will be in an Energy crisis soon, has a black-market USD trade, has pissed-off Chile, is in bed with Venezuela, has mortgaged its arse to China, is in trouble with the IMF, has been caught lying on the world stage, a President who is constantly ill/scared/mad (and has taken to threatening the USA!) and now is starting to retract on its previous lies...
    Doesn't look good...
    Good Luck kids!

Like in 1982 when they didn't refuel in South America?

    Who won?
