China and Australia have sealed a major free trade agreement, as Chinese President Xi Jinping made a rare address to parliament in Canberra. The deal, the result of a decade of talks, will open up markets worth billions of dollars, Canberra says. Read full article

    I don't trust China. And their demographic problems will probably lead their government to former a nice little war to utilise the excess testosterone.

    But I'm sure glad we're making bucket loads of money out of them at the moment.

    Australia and China agree on a free trade relationship.

    Argentina and China have a debtor/creditor arrangement. It would be extremely foolish for Argentina to default on its debt to China!

    Yes, definitely a better deal than Argentina got, but Australia is playing from a position of strength. However, this absolutely key:
    “China was not able to get Australia to change its practice of scrutiny by the foreign investment review board on all investment by state-owned enterprises, which make up most of Chinese investments.”
