Argentine Foreign Minister Hector Timerman called a press conference to explain that he did march in Paris as a common citizen in the massive rally of solidarity after the terror attacks on France last week, rejecting reports by Clarin newspaper of alleged presidential orders instructing him not to attend the rally. Jan 14th, 2015 - 04:51 am - Link - Report abuse 0Why is this newsworthy?
@1 Because if he did act against the orders of KFC then it will be the last we see of him.....except as a common citizen.
Jan 14th, 2015 - 05:18 am - Link - Report abuse 0Well! He IS a bit of a COMMON man, isn't he?
Jan 14th, 2015 - 07:03 am - Link - Report abuse 0He's Jewish isn't he?
Jan 14th, 2015 - 07:18 am - Link - Report abuse 0Hector, wasn't everyone in the march supporting Argentina's Malvinas claims?
Jan 14th, 2015 - 09:26 am - Link - Report abuse 0I congratulate Mr Timmerman for attending this march.
Jan 14th, 2015 - 10:22 am - Link - Report abuse 0But why wasn't he there representing Argentina? Surely Argentina condemns these attacks? Don't they?
I am amazed that the French Security forces didn't arrest him for being an Arab sympathiser.
Jan 14th, 2015 - 10:39 am - Link - Report abuse 0He did get one thing correct, he most certainly is a common creature, not too sure about him being human however.
Argentina refuses to condemn terrorism, indeed it supports it in Crimea. Anything for a few roubles.
Jan 14th, 2015 - 11:26 am - Link - Report abuse 0This is because it is assumed in Argentina that the Charlie Hebdo terrorist attack it was an attack on free speech rather than a cultural clash... Or at least the politicians do.
Jan 14th, 2015 - 12:59 pm - Link - Report abuse 0The CFK government has her own ongoing campaign to crush the free press or what is left of it in Argentina. Free press is not one of the Kirchnerist banners.
@4 So is Cristina.
Jan 14th, 2015 - 01:02 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@7 He supports putin with the Argentina that he's destroying economically. He's not really an ally.
@8 He supports Iran and Palestine/whatever with the Argentina that he's destroying economically. He's not a serious supporter.
@4 Yes, Timerman is Jewish - what's your point?
Jan 14th, 2015 - 02:29 pm - Link - Report abuse 0It should be pointed out that Kretina has not attended the AMIA memorial for the last couple of years...ever since her failed agreement with Iran on the issue. Wonder why??
Jan 14th, 2015 - 03:09 pm - Link - Report abuse 0@11. Perhaps there's an attempt to make some sort of connection with the hostage taking at the kosher deli? And I agree with @3 and @7, he's certainly common.
Jan 14th, 2015 - 03:20 pm - Link - Report abuse 0It's just about political point-scoring. ”He said that he attended “as a common citizen who is against terrorist attacks, whether they are in Paris or in Nigeria.”
No doubt he will condemn terrorist argieland for its trade and financial war against the Falkland Islands. Now we can understand why he ran out of the meeting in London when he realised that two Islanders were going to be attending. Terrorists hate meeting with surviving victims. Perhaps he thought they would mine him. Surely he would understand that WE, British and Islanders, are really civilised. We even gave nazi war criminals trials. When all we should have given them was 8 foot of hemp rope.
Perhaps he would have been uncomfortable with the realisation that in a Jews/nazis role play, he would have been representing the nazis.
And now he's 'common'. He's been very quiet recently, hasn't he? Has he had the tip that he's on his way out? That some REAL citizens might decide to raise some grievances? How much of his ill-gotten gains will he have to spend on 'protection'?
WTF are all the clown trolls? This time it must be one serious power outage.
Jan 14th, 2015 - 05:24 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Wasn't invited, but decided to gate-crash anyway....
Jan 14th, 2015 - 05:42 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Just like the Argentine troops in 1982!
Looks like somebody was not impressed with the performance...

Capitanich -
Jan 14th, 2015 - 06:31 pm - Link - Report abuse 0“Chancellor Timerman has signed the Condolence Book, in which Argentina condemns terrorism,
If Common Man Timerman was not there as an official representative, how can they say ARGENTINA condemns terrorism??
C'mon, which is it??
As usual, Capitanich is covering up for CFK's public blunders.
”
Why is everyone so blind to Cristina being Jewish and constantly paying tribute to nazi fascists while ruining the country? Is education that low in Argentina and on this feed?

I'm not shocked that she took bribes to erase the Amia case.
Jan 14th, 2015 - 10:12 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I'm just surprised it took her so long to agree a figure for the bribe.
I'll be even more surprised if she pays the 200 million pesos though!
dont understand the controversy....timmerman went as a civilian to Paris, went to the march as a civilian and then signed a book repudiating terrorism and solidarizing with France. The march seemed to be representative mostly for those countries of EU, like if in latin america there is a problem latin countries will come first. Obama didnt go either. Our gov officially rejected the act of terrorism and suported France. Thats all. Clarinete is becoming a Little bit repetitive and exagerating this year seems with this episode and others.
Jan 15th, 2015 - 12:13 am - Link - Report abuse 0And lovely to see in our press all kind ,but all kind of opinions and annalisis about what happenned in a really really fredom of speech, obviously some newspapers in only one way of thinking, but others reproducing many ways, even when there is a clear repudation of this way of terrorism.
And it doesnt call my attention these kind of jokes about religions, any religion, it doesnt make me laugh, but i understand for others maybe, because its the theme for joking (there was also a writter talking about a muslim president for the future, etc).

Seems simple to me.
Timerman went as a common citizen and represented himself, only.
Your government sent NO representative.
Timerman signed the book for himself, NOT as your government.
Simple.
Hence the indirect message malen, Argentina supports terrorism.
Jan 15th, 2015 - 10:20 am - Link - Report abuse 0BTW....Obama may not have attended, but if for one nano second you think that the USA supports terrorism, you are living in a cave somewhere. Now go hug Iran.
