    In the Guardian today:
“Stuart Gulliver, the HSBC chief executive...sheltered millions of pounds in a Swiss account through a Panamanian company and remains tax domiciled in Hong Kong.
”Leaked files show that the Derby-born Gulliver, (held) about £5m in a Swiss account.
“The...private bank was complicit in tax evasion and aggressive tax avoidance, doled out bricks of cash in mixed currencies to clients, and provided banking services to criminals, drug smugglers, and friends and families of dictators.”
Lanata and Campagnoli should take a look. Perhaps Báez' money is at HSBC! Sorry-could not resist.

@1 Oh, well done! You are following the 'distract at all costs' instruction from the K's. Don't forget you need to personally attack anyone posting anything negative about your glorious leader.

When were you last in Argentina? I am pretty sure I have spent more time there than you in the last decade.

Lanata will be next on the suicide list.

Singer should be ready to move against argie assets this year! I can't wait.

These choripanero's should be tried for treason.
Looks like the K's can't bribe or block the information on this one. Listen for the Maduro line of “ political sabotage” blah, blah, blah.

@4 You seem not to understand that is the role of the 'free' press, to challenge the government. By far, the majority of the media in Argentina is owned by the K's so you should thank the stars that there is an independent element that can challenge the rampant corruption and lies spread by the current government.

In the U.K. our press savage which ever government is in power on a daily basis because they have to be accountable to us, the voters. They should be scrutinised within an inch of their lives. It is called living in a democratic society, something you THINK you have in Argentina but have never really had.

“free” press cant “challenge” the gov with lies, operations, corruption and wild propaganda.
and second never seen “savage” press in uk, so i would not talk of what i dont know neither care.
but i see BBC, sth cold, unsensitive and clearly very very probrit. they continue or make interviews that may affect uk propaganda (people with other points of view).
and about democracy, well in uk people doesnt vote for those lords that govern you (they have to be choosen by the monarch, a monarch with power to decide a war ), neither the monarch and not even directly for PM.

“free press ” you can say and write what you like in the UK provided it is whithin the law. That means if you say something and can't back it with evidence you could be sued for libel or slander, but that won't happen in Argentina as CFK has got rid of your “ slander and libel ” laws or so one of your compatriots on here reliably infomed me. Therefore you can say and do anything in Argentina and get away with it , no repercussions. No wonder Argentina is such a fucked up country because CFK has taken justice away.

US$65 million is just the small change. There's also the US$4 billion in federal contracts and the US$1.2 billion in provincial contracts between 2005 and 2010 that need to be investigated.

Did HSBC launder the Baez/Kirchner money? You can see how it would work. Baez could tell HSBC that it needs to 'co-operate' or a 'friend' might have a word with another 'friend' in Brazil (Lulu) and the banking licence is lost! That's blackmail. Yet another Kirchner crime.

Wouldn't it be funny if it turned out that, in the course of 'laundering', HSBC loaned money to Mr Singer? The Kirchner conspiracy being pursued with its own money!
@7. Only a few 'errors'. 'unsensitive'? 'people doesn't vote'? The 'lords' don't govern. Curiously, the UK is governed by something called the 'government'. 'choosen'? Our monarch doesn't decide a war. Generally, that's done by who wins. Although I admit that that's usually us.

On the other hand, have you compared argieland? Why aren't there stories in the argie press about vote buying and vote rigging? We all know about it. If someone gets 'elected' by means of bought votes, shouldn't they be removed and jailed? Why isn't Kirchner doing 40 years of hard labour? She'd like to be a 'queen', wouldn't she? Unfortunately, she's just queer. Why does the old slag 'govern' by decree? Over the years, Britain has seen government 'measures' defeated by the 'opposition'. Pretty stupid really. The Conservative party had the guts to go to war 8,000 miles away and argies were ripped apart by the best armed forces in the world. The Labour party spent and borrowed, spent and borrowed, trying to be 'populist' like Kirchner. Fortunately, we got rid of them. Now, as our economy and wealth increase, we can get rid of the LibDem arses and stamp Labour into the mud. Worrying, isn't it? The same political party as that of the blessed Winston and Margaret ready to obliterate argies.

As I said last year Singers goal will be to harass and embarrass the K regime.
    Looks like its going well.
My guess is he will find the stolen loot and get it frozen.
Then CFK won't have any $ to bribe her way out.
    Fantastic

Daniel released a statement saying Argentina’s lawyers have failed to respond to calls over the past two weeks to meet to discuss a proposal from U.S. bondholders, led Paul of NML Capital Ltd.
“The offer, Daniel said, came without pre-conditions and offered the possibility that Argentina could settle without being required to immediately pay cash, with details to be negotiated later”. U.S. District Judge Griesa has issued rulings saying Argentina must pay U.S. bondholders the roughly $1.5 billion they are owed if it makes payments to more than 90 percent of its bondholders who swapped their bonds for ones of lesser value in 2005 and 2010. We all know when the swaps occurred, after Argentina defaulted in 2001 on $100 billion of debt. We picked up their bonds on the cheap and sought to enforce the terms of the bonds through the courts, as is our legal rights per the contractual obligations to which Argentina agreed to when they accepted the funds.
Pdaniel then saiad that Judge Griesa asked him to issue a public statement on the status of negotiations. Daniel said he resumed efforts to negotiate Jan. 30 by reaching out to Argentina’s New York lawyers and following up with phone calls over the next two weeks.
“The government of Argentina has neither accepted nor otherwise responded to the invitation by the bondholders,” he said.
