President Cristina Fernandez, CFK, on an official visit to Russia met at the Kremlin with Vladimir Putin and praised Moscow’s support to Argentina in the dispute with the United Kingdom over the sovereignty of the Falklands/Malvinas Islands as well as in the legal battle against speculative funds suing the country over its defaulted bonds. Apr 24th, 2015 - 07:48 am - Link - Report abuse 0Let's hope that Crisis Fernandez de Kirchner does not resort to Russian-style diplomacy to try to get what she wants in the Falklands.
Apr 24th, 2015 - 08:15 am - Link - Report abuse 0“As citizen of the world I want to emphasize the invaluable support of the Red Army in the fight and destruction of Nazism”, said the Argentine leader.
Apr 24th, 2015 - 08:17 am - Link - Report abuse 0So the whole of Argentina was anti Nazi in WW2 ?
Russia and Argentina would be increasing military cooperation following the signature of an accord on defense issues.
So we can now expect Russian naval facilities in Argentina,
Does this not conflict with a peaceful Argentina AND the militarisation of the S.Atlantic ?
So Cristina took tea with the crocodile, and Cristina and the crocodile both condemned intervention in the affairs of third countries, and no doubt also the seizing of unwary chickens off river banks.
Apr 24th, 2015 - 08:23 am - Link - Report abuse 0Along the way she doesn't seem to have noticed that the fulsome support for crocodile proclivities which she has offered doesn't seem to have been reciprocated, in that the the crocodile has curiously failed to support Argentina's sovereignity claim per se, but only our old friends talks and resolution, which the crocodile must surely know is just about the last thing the superannuated Spice Girl really, really wants. And of course the crocodile is also rather embarrassingly in favour of referenda these days, and we wouldn't want to go there, now would we.
Some people, you can pull an Eva Peron exhibition over their eyes any day of the week.
And still she hasn't grasped the difference between sovereignity and impunity.
A sovereignty claim without a case can only be interpreted as an illegitimate claim and worthless.

I'm puzzled. Seems like the 'wishes' of 2,932 Falkland Islanders trumps the historical 'support' of Russia. Russian support doesn't seem to have had much effect!
Apr 24th, 2015 - 10:17 am - Link - Report abuse 0What a shame about the mistake we made in 1941. We should have let nazi Germany carry on with Operation Barbarossa without giving soviet Russia a smidgeon of assistance. How many millions on both sides would have been killed. Weaker Russia, weaker Germany. And then, at the right moment, step in and destroy them both!
Putin must react with joy to her visits. Here comes the stupid cow again.
'Cristina Fernandez said that she will continue working on the drafting on an international convention regarding the restructuring of sovereign debts.' Funny. Come October she's going to be running for her life to somewhere from which she can't be extradited. And how will this help argieland? Most of argieland's debts are already established. It may be that the wonderful Judge Griesa has already got future argie debts sewn up.
The argie and Russian leaders agreed that ”countries have changed, the world has been transformed,” but invasion, conquest, occupation and subjugation are still very satisfying. The Russian leader was cautious about naval support, remembering how a single British submarine was enough to defeat the whole argie navy. And that Russian ships sink without any outside assistance.
And here's a reach, “As citizen of the world I want to emphasize the invaluable support of the Red Army in the fight and destruction of Nazism”, said the Argentine leader, who continues, for the time being, to 'lead' one of the foremost countries responsible for harbouring nazi war criminals. And has managed to incorporate many nazi principles into argieland.
Russia and argieland will be increasing military co-operation. Britain will be assisting by seeing how many Russian and argie vessels it can sink. Only in fun! Except for the crews.
The woman is stark raving mad.

All the Ruskies have suits, shirts and ties, the only one on the argie side being Gollum, but heh, he's a diplomat! TMBOA has her push up bra and plunging neckline complete with short hemline: argie tart.
As for the midget and the prat whose name escapes me they look like a bunch of tramps as usual. Despicable people.
Um not seen much support for Argentina in the UN security council (the only bit that really matters)
Apr 24th, 2015 - 12:12 pm - Link - Report abuse 0One of CFK's predecessors also tried to play the Russia card (or rather, at that time, the Soviet card). His name was Leopoldo Fortunato Galtieri and the year was 1982. Ring a bell?

Can anyone point to an ADULT leader in this world of ours?

As for WAR, will this be CFKs choosing or Putin's
if I remember rightly the Russians along with most of the world, thought Britain would not fight , or retake to the islands,
now CFK may be a stupid deluded twat, but Putin is no fool,
he is well aware we will fight and defend, the most he would hope for, is a distraction of the British to Argentina, and away from his door step,
but is she so bloody desperate , that she would sacrifice peace to get her own way, before she leave power,
after all, once she has gone, what damage can she do,
just an opinion.
It has to be remembered that until not long ago, Latin American countries suffered countless direct or indirect interventions from the U.S.
Apr 24th, 2015 - 11:41 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Our historical carnal relations with the western block brought us increasing misery. Latin American governments were toppled at the slightest sign of sympathies for the eastern block, or even neutrality. After the Cuban revolution it got worse when the U.S. decided there would be not a similar process.
Latin American economies went from bad to worse, with Carlos Menem being the apex and ending in the catastrophic default of 2001.
Balancing international relations as CFK is doing (China, Russia) is a wise and long overdue measure.
We're you in Canada then too?

Apr 25th, 2015 - 04:16 am - Link - Report abuse 0Latin America's governmental freak shows were for the most part home grown oligarchies that managed to present themselves to the US as anti-communist at times when the US was dumb enough to fall for it. The US could never have engineeered any such thing in a socio-political culture that wasn't ripe for it already, and the Argentine attitude to the Falkland Islanders shows that's there's still some way to go before the culture is willing to adopt democratic principles, or indeed to accept responsibility for its own failings.
Until then, good luck in the Russian and/or Chinese orbits. I'm sure they'll treat you much nicer than the awful gringos ever did, if their neighbours' experiences are anything to go by.
“We thank Russia for the support it has historically provided in the Malvinas question, in having the resolutions of the United Nations observed so the United Kingdom resolves to sit in the table to dialogue,”
Apr 25th, 2015 - 04:17 am - Link - Report abuse 0Where do you start? Not only is the plastic lady’s rhetoric hopelessly conflicted she is clearly out of her depth when it comes to dealing with Putin and the Russian bear. Just a couple of issues that float around in a sea of hypocrisy.
In 1982 at the height of the cold war and when the former USSR was a military superpower, they offered Argentina limited rhetorical support by making a few threatening noises. The truth was that they lacked the capability to intervene decisively with the British operation to remove the Argentine’s from the Falklands. Today the USSR has gone and Russia has even less capability when it comes to interventions in disputes far beyond its borders. In any case, why should they? The Falklands are a British territory and Britain was simply defending itself against an aggressor. Russians understand all about that.
“As citizen of the world I want to emphasize the invaluable support of the Red Army in the fight and destruction of Nazism”, said the Argentine leader.”
I think that will go down as one of the most self-serving, hypocritical and sickening statements ever uttered by a world leader. No acknowledgement of the other allied countries that contributed to the destruction, including Britain and the Commonwealth. No mention also of her own countries fence sitting role where they secretly hoped for a fascist victory but didn’t have the bottle to join them.
When they lose office the plastic lady and the rest of the clowns should set up their own circus.
Does she carry around a set of forms for the leader of each country she visits to sign ? The wording is pretty much identical each time. They probably sign it in the hope that she will stop droning on and just go away

We Uruguayans are sick and tired of the K Circus, which has lasted far too long already and done this country a great deal of harm. My hope is that the plastic lady and fellow clowns will be on trial.
I just got through reading both the Tass and Pravda news sites about the Argentine visit and there is NOT one mention of the Falklands/Malvinas by either site. I'm sure that there is a mention somewhere is some document, but the Russians are not showing any interest in the subject. All they seem to be interested in is the Nuclear power plant, food for arms, selling worthless antiquated Arctic tugboats...
Apr 25th, 2015 - 03:19 pm - Link - Report abuse 0The greatest destructive economic weapon that will be responsible for the ruinous contractual agreements signed today will be CFK's reckless stupidity. A ten megaton nuclear missile lobbed into downtown BA would have been less damaging. No wonder a black cloud is currently hovering over the city right now...

Please please Mr Putin sell your rusty old jets to Kretina. We have a prime minister over here who thinks the NHS is a state religion and a chancellor who dips into the defence budget like a teenager uses the bank of mum and dad. If you could you get those silly argies to buy your rusty old jets it might force our 2 posh boy leaders to stop looking for defence cuts to fund electoral bribes.
