The Chinese will end up wiping out 3 generations of wealth through bad policy and misunderstanding the market.
Btw I'm the only one on this board who predicted this, countless times argueing with Statists claiming with glee the chinese would overtake the USA.
I await their apology and their admission of being retarded.
Voice vestige derek think toby bras stevie dany and others im talking to you.

Perhaps China will now cut back on her military and her territorial ambitions.

    just a thought.

I wonder whats going to happen when China has to sell the companies, mines, minerals, oil etc they've been stockpiling. They've bought a lot of stuff nobody wanted and overpaid for all of it. They're sitting on a crapload of oil, paying huge tankers to store it and its dropping like a rock.
They've never understood the market and its going to bite them hard.
    I can't wait.
    :)

Funny fact 30MM Chinese still live in caves.
    10% of the USA population
and the idiots on this board thought they'd overtake us one day.

    Bahahahahaha

Yes they live in caves called Yaodongs. These can actually be excavated hillsides or cliffs and honestly if you look at pictures many look like normal buildings.

We also have some towns in Australia where people live underground like Coober Pedy.

The Yaodongs of China are actually considered a sustainable design for home construction. Using this statistic as a form of showing superiority isn't really working. China's economy is going down the toilet but highlighting something that is actually a traditional and good housing design isn't the way to bolster an argument.

Gads get of the high horse. You're so preachy lately. I don't need advice from you.

Never met a civilized cave dweller in my life and I don't ever expect I will.

    China halted their stock market.
Down she goes where she ends up nobody knows.

Watch the $ flow into the USA

@8 Probably not a great idea to insult everyone on this board. I have seen many comments about China's economy being unsustainable and have made them myself. In fact, you will see that I have called the USA the only superpower and that BRICS is a fantasy taken out of context and made into something it isn't.

But if it makes you happy, live it up. But be careful because when the Chinese economy collapses the USA will not be immune to the consequences in the short-term and with the world's economy being so fragile, none of us are safe from the consequences.

We may have a short term readjustment as the USA again becomes the engine of world growth. We will be the only place that world investment is flowing into during this time.
I only hope we get a Prez that can handle it and do the right things. Which means stay out of the way. We also have to roll back all the crazy Odumbo regs and let business do their thing.

There's also a general mood that the Federal Gov't is too intrusive into the States and people's lives. Watch States start to ignore Fed regs and the Feds will not be able to do anything about it.

I have long felt that everyone with capital is just waiting out this Admin. There will be a huge uptick in investment as soon as the next Prez is chosen.

I am not worried about the Chinese economy. It has all been smoke and mirrors and those that bought into it deserve to get fleeced. A chaotic China is overall very good for the USA.

@10 And what happens if Clinton is elected? Surely you must think the Trump is damaging the GOP?

    Jul 08th, 2015 - 02:16 pm - Link - Report abuse 0
  • yankeeboy

No I don't think Trump is damaging the GOP. What he said was correct and frankly we need someone with the guts to say what everyone is thinking. I think Trump has a place in the debates and will make the other candidates talk about the inconvenient things they'd rather not.
The USA is and always has been a center right country. Odumbo has tried to drag it left and had both houses of Congress taken away from him along with most State Gov'ts.
I can't see a Dem winning. The overall mood of the country is enough is enough let's get back to what we are good at and get moving again and on the GOP side we have some very very good candidates.
Odumbo destroyed the Dems just like Carter. Hopefully it will be another generation before they're back in power.
It the liberal media that creates these fake firestorms and I think most people get that. Look at just the numbers of viewers of cable TV news and you'll see the proof. Also most liberal newspapers are failing.

I think next year will be very interesting to watch.

@12 Seriously? You think the 33m Mexicans living in the US are all rapists and murderers with maybe a few being good people? Come on, you are more intelligent than that. I just spent the weekend with some Ohio Republicans and even they couldn't stomach his remarks. He is walking a dangerous route of racism. All the people he is insulting are going to vote Dem.

I agree that the USA walks the centre line in politics. Slightly right or left of the centre with not much in it. It is the extremists like Trump that can push people the other way. He is damaging to have around. The problem the GOP has is believing the US is still country of old rich white men making the decisions.

I agree next year will be interesting to watch.

Elaine, Which side has 2 Latino candidates? Which side has all old white people running?
    You're very confused.
37% of all Federal convicted criminals are illegals, whether they're Mexican or not is irrelevant. The term “mexican” was used to mean “illegals”. Everyone knows we have an immigration problem that needs to be fixed and until Trump brought up the subject nobody was talking about it. Now they are.

    Thank goodness Illegals can't vote.

I don't like discussing USA politics with foreigners. They tend to put us in the same light as their own country misunderstanding the way most Americans think.

The Dems have been trending huge losses for 4yrs I don't see that changing before the next election.

Frankly I hope the Socialist wins on the Dem side or the ninny from MD. Hillary doesn't have a clue and when the media turns on her (and they will) you'll understand what I am talking about.

How was your trip to BA? I've not seen an update.

BTW if you look at the nationality stats 34% are hispanic. Which is what I meant to say above. They estimate there's around 350K illegal criminals in the USA population.
Its a problem that needs to be addressed with the new Prez.
and I am sure it will.

@14 “I don't like discussing USA politics with foreigners.” You are sounding like TTT there. I don't have a dog in the race so I like to debate to get a feel of opinion. If the US is the only superpower in the world and has such an impact we all have a right to comment.

Hillary will get a rough ride, of that there is no doubt. If Bush is the Republican candidate he will negate a lot of the dynasty claims hurled her way. If Trump is the Repub. candidate then he will cause a Farage backlash and will lose you votes. I don't think the average US voter has any appetite for extreme views any more than UK voters do.

Farage did bring the immigration mess - caused by Blair's open door policy - to the debate forum. But only the armchair racists talked the way Trump does. Most wanted a fairer and more selective system and that is what we will get. We have always needed immigration and will continue to do so. My point is that people like Trump are necessary but unelectable.

The U.S and U.K. have plenty of homegrown criminals so let's not blame it all on the immigrants. Trump is a complete toss-pot.

Elaine this is exactly what im talking about, I know nothing about UK politics and care even less.
Nobody thinks Trump will get the nomination. Right now polls are name recognition only. Hes got a platform and lots of money and im glad hes out there.
Bush is as long of a long shot as clinton.
I hope neither one of them gets nominated.
If you read my many posts I believe in immigration wholeheartedly. I want a point sytem like canada and state sponsorship with a set time they must reside in the state that sponsors them.
Odumbo is a lame duck. Nothing will happen legislatively until hes gone.
    Thank goodness.
All the stupid executive orders and uber regulation can be quickly undone by the next prez.
I love to discuss politics but again you're ilinformed and prejudiced based on your own countries politics but cant admit it. Youll never understand like ill never get the UK politics then again I dont care.

@19 Um, I don't think you could call other people prejudiced with a straight face. You are one of the most prejudiced people on this forum.

I am not ill-informed but a lot more open-minded and that makes you uncomfortable. I do care about politics in other countries as I am not so inward looking and we live in a globalised world. You should look up and out from time to time.

If you don't care to debate with me it is no great loss but if you post comments I can choose to respond if I so wish. You and TTT are two sides of the same coin.

@21 I said one of the most prejudiced people on this forum. Try reading some of your own posts about Argentines, they are pretty nasty and absolutely prejudiced.

Clearly you had a rotten time in Argentina and chose to leave. Why you are so very bitter and have to keep dragging it out on here is surely unnecessary. I actually agree with you on some points but your determination to label everyone the same is what lets you down.

My trips are always what I make of them.....typically. My most upsetting trips where when I was in service. I could not make of what I wanted of them. Like some of my partners looking for yellow cake.

I really don't bother here much. I've neither the time nor inclination to invest a daily diatribe on nothing. I'm currently more vested in keeping the Olympics out of Boston in particular and Massachusetts in general. Otherwise my 5.2% flat tax rate might increase.

Elaine, I think you read things into my posts that aren't there, just like Think/Voice I might add.
Everyone is prejudiced, it is human nature. I have my beliefs about the people in Argentina, do I think they're all the same, nope, do I think they have similar characteristics that I can use a broad brush with, yes. Just like everyone does with certain nationalities or races.

I had a great time living in Argentina until I didn't. I am not bitter. I am very happy that I could kinda retire and have fun when I was still young. I have been back a number of times since I moved back to the USA. Its too violent now to even consider a vacation there now though. Too dirty and dangerous plus there are many other countries I have yet to visit.

I started posting here after reading Think's (and whatever persona he is using) ridiculous lies about how wonderful everyone and everything is in Argentina under the Kirchner regime. At the time I was the only one countering the posts with the truth as I know it.

Now its more of a terrible waste of time that I let myself use to blow off steam as I wait around for appts or emails etc.
I will admit sometimes I get ahead of myself but usually someone else started it first and I am not one to back down.
Since I know I am always right.
    :)

Trump hasn't been dumped by Macy's, NBC, ESPN & NASCAR because of his views on immigration, he's been fired specifically for the comment:“They're rapists”.

The problems the GOP had connecting with latino voters after the last election are well documented and were acknowledged by their leadership. Americans have every right to be concerned about who crosses their borders, but Trump's comments make him look like an idiot.

...and if he's so convinced of the moral superiority of his own ancestors, why doesn't he change his name back to one his grandfather had when he arrived at Ellis Island?

I guess Drumpf Tower just doesn't have the same ring...

“Btw I'm the only one on this board who predicted this”

Certainly was. Who could have seen this one coming? I myself bought into the stories that were put out by the BBC ( should have known better ) and by all the leading financial “experts” who said by 2016? 2015? China would overtake the USA and become THE dominant global trading country.

Guess they didn't see this one coming either.

So, I will swallow my pride and say “Sorry for doubting you”

( although I am not going to say sorry for being a retard, it's WWWHHHEEEYYY too much fun!! )

Lets all just hope that there isn't too much of a knock on effect huh?

@28 The BBC said that?!? Goldman Sachs who invented the whole BRIC idea said 2050. I am going to check that out as I think the BBC would never have said 2015. Maybe you misheard.

You may only have read Yankeeboy's posts but I have never bought into the whole BRIC(S) future superpower and have posted on here stating that, as have others. I think you will find that the La Campora Western Haters lead by TTT are the only people who bought into the 'USA is a spent power”.

@30 Can't argue with that. I just don't think you had the scoop on China or the BRIC(S). I think the theory has been pretty much dissected and disputed for years in developed countries. Though, recently when I was visiting Russia I was at a lunch that included a Romanian businessman. He was a bit of a loudmouthed twit and started informing everyone about the future being all about BRIC (he hadn't heard about South Africa's inclusion) as if it was some new theory that only he had heard about. It was frankly embarrassing and I felt obliged to put him right. It had the added advantage of shutting him up for the remainder of the meal for which everyone was truly grateful including his wife.

I enjoy your posts in the main and a bit of banter.

To be fair, I probably did. This was around 2008 and all the misery that came with it. There were plenty of stories going round about how the sun had set on the USA.

That's when the “Rising star in the East” stories started so I could have got it all wrapped round my neck.
