    There is a very easy way to unify the country: DumbAss Dilma should call an election and let the electorate decide on the future of her and her corrupt party.

    This is called “saving one's arse” to make sure that they look as though they are doing something when they know it's just rhetoric - the reality is it is these twits that have destroyed everything with their unsustainable policies. However the idea to reform the political party system would be a welcome dvelopment. Therefore with no confidence in these idiots (and the system) for another 3 years led by fat D, it would be better to start that new system of political governorship right now!

    So Temer recognizes the fact that “it is tremendously difficult to govern with 32 political parties and get anything done. We practically have no parties left, we just have party initials, which is why we need a 'politics-party restructuring' to give the country political credibility,” --- but what are they doing about it ? Nothing.
    Is asking the private sector to save the government's ass a fair request ? Don't think so. So, the Government can be irresponsible, and when the sh*t hits the fan, it expects the private sector to come to its rescue, just to be screwed again, a little further down the road ?
    The truth is that Temer, as VP, cannot just break-off with Dilma , but is sure doing his damndest to start distancing himself and the PMDB from the mess caused mainly by her and Lulla.

    And as usual you can present NO alternative.

    So are you saying that she should NOT do as I suggest, or what: provide a link to some febrile nonentity who self-published what they happen to think?

    have you tried your new dress on yet?

    The PT is a a minority party that has had to rely on a shaky conditional coalition. Without a solid majority in both the Senate and Congress to have a freehand in implementing their policies. They've had to live with the inevitable political compromises, as a result of the position the electorate has bequeathed them.

    The PT could do what it wants for many a year by doling out the lollies for support to do whatever they want to others that would support their cause. PMDB played that game with them. The minute the shit hits the fan though they all desert the sinking ship to save their skins. It's an absolute disgrace of a political system and Temer and PSDB are a perfect example of this, accept the baubles of office in the good times but run for cover in the bad times when they are just as much culpable. They should all be lynched and the political system changed with less parties, less horse trading and greater accountability.

    Your the one who is asserting “Dilma should call an election” without showing where there is even a constitutional imperative that would even allow for such an an anomaly. But, thinking things through is not exactly your strong point is it? So the onus of the burden of proof is on you, not me disprove

    My post is an answer to the problem and DumbAss CAN resign and all of her team with her: that alone will trigger a new election or are you claiming something that none of the rest of us have considered.

    Try and come up with a decision and give us all a shock!

    If I knew her I'd write and pass on your suggestion, I'm sure she would comply when she realizes the source is some retired limey small-bussinessman from Uruguay.

    I think ChrisR's comment @1 is entirely reasonable.

    He simply called for an election. What is “ loony right reactionary” about that?

    Terence you are a cunt. You are a small minded twat. Where the fuck do you live? I live in Brazil. What has it got to do with ChrisR living in Uruguay (which in MY opinion is not a bad place)? Dilma and mates, have rooted the country of Brazil. End of story. And if you defend that you are a wanker (in my opinion)

    With Dilma's approval rating running at 12%, surely she owes it to the nation to call an election?

    This is why I prefer a parliamentary system. Especially one with a monarch at the apex or a close second is an appointed non-partisan president.

    While in such a system, Dilma wouldn't automatically be removed, you could have enough parliamentarians pass a no confidence motion or similar to have the executive step in and call an election.

    Unfortunately Dilma is at the top of the system and she will drag down the country rather than fall on her sword. The sheer taint of the scale of corruption that occurred under her watch at Petrobas should be enough for her to put the country first.

    Unfortunately many Latin American countries revolve around personality cults of their leaders and lead to ridiculous systems based on Peronism, Lulaism, Chavism, etc instead of sustainable systems that don't just serve sychophants.

    You can't just blame the end of the commodity supercycle or China's economic problems for what is happening in Brazil. Australia has auch greater exposure to China and commodities. We also have a country just as large which we need to provide infrastructure for and yet instead of a market (and potential tax base) of 200 million do it with 23.

    Economically and politically Australia has a much lower world profile and heft than Brazil and yet we are already screaming for the government to either do something or call an election when our growth is STILL coming in at 2% per annum.

    Dilma doesn't have the ability or desire to reform the political or economy system so her being in power will only enforce and deepen the recession.

    She runs the risk of entrenching a sub-par economic performance for many years, perhaps even a decade or longer.

    As Australia enters its 25th year of growth it seems that some countries could have learnt a lot from us but in arrogance didn't.

    @6 Terence
    “The PT is a a minority party that has had to rely on a shaky conditional coalition”.

    Enormous lie. Don't let your friend 'brasshole' see that, or he will break-off the lovey-dovey relationship he has with you.
    Just for everyone's info :
    Of the 32 parties in Brazil, the PT is the largest - 1 President (joke !), 88 'deputados federais' (Federal Deputies or, Congressmen in the Lower House), 13 Senators, 5 Governors, and 635 Mayors (the Mayors, governing 27.6 million inhabitants).
    The PMDB is the second largest - 1 VP, 79 Federal Deputies, 19 Senators, 5 Governors, 1,023 Mayors (but only governing 22,8 million inhabitants), and
    Third : the PSDB - 54 federal Deputies, 10 Senators, 8 Governors and 702 Mayors (these, governing 18,4 million inhabitants) .
    So the PT and the PMDB, plus most of the smaller, leftist parties, form the largest coalition. No 'minority' about that. But the PT's problem now that they have been exposed for the sh*t they are, is that the PMDB does not want to be too closely associated with them anymore. Too bad, isn't it Terence ?

    @8 Terence
    “... who is asserting “Dilma should call an election” without showing where there is even a constitutional imperative that would even allow for such an an anomaly”...

    Wrong again ! She could resign....that, occurring before two years of her mandate are up, would call for new elections.

    @10 Terence
    Realizing you've shat out the pot, instead of admitting it - like a 'man' - you conveniently sidestep the issue. A true lying Liberal.

    @13 Ilsen
    Her approval rating is below 8%...as I said abt 10 days ago, lower than our 12 month inflation, currently running at about 9,7%....If you are willing to believe it.

    @14 Skip.
    Agree 100%. The problem in Brazil is that the average Brazilian is not as educated as the average Australian ; we have percentage wise, and in absolute terms, far more idiots. Just look at Terence.

    ”If I knew her I'd write and pass on your suggestion, I'm sure she would comply when she realizes the source is some retired limey small-businessman (SIC) from Uruguay.

    1) You can still write to her but she wouldn't understand unless you can speak and write Portuguese;
    2) ”retired limey small-businessman (SIC) from Uruguay.” Oh bless (from an atheist) your true colours are revealed at last. I'm proud to be British and as a small businessman I probably employed more people than you ever have. Being part of someone else's business does not count.

    Their families were very happy about the situation, but then, they did have a brain AND knew how to use it.

    Please refer to posts 11, 12 and 13, and your support is how many, NIL is it, yes it is!
