Brazil's state-controlled Petrobras produced a record 2.69mn b/d of oil equivalent (boe/d) in August, 3.1% increase over July and almost 1% higher than the previous 2.67mn boe/d record set in December 2014, the company said on Wednesday. Read full article

If you refer to the Armed Forces, I definitely hope so.

As to the slogan ”O Petróleo é nosso!”, makes no sense nowadays. It is obvious that every barrel of oil produced belongs partially or fully to Brazil. Foreign oil companies need to be remunerated and to pay their way, as should Petrobras......While PB has what it needs as far as technology is concerned, it needs 'professional' management, no more of this political appointee crap.

Nor can anyone tell what the truth is either. A 61% increase from a very poor baseline is still very poor.

Why can't Petrobras tell the truth or is it because they still have to lie to keep the figures that are published closed to scrutiny?

Petrobras already produces over 1 million barrels per day in the pre-salt. In 2020 will be 4.5 million barrels per day. So Brazil will be an exporter of this commodity.

You sound optimistic. I hope you are right , but I doubt it....The only chance of the company recovering its finances and its ability to invest, will depend on serious, professional management, and absolutely no more political interference - by any Government or by any political party.
