Pope Francis praised Cubans' “spirit” in the face of adversity in a message broadcast ahead of his trip to the impoverished island. “It does me a lot of good and helps me to think of your faith in the Lord, of the spirit with which you confront the difficulties of each day,” the pope said in a message played on state television. The Dope of a Pope is going to get the Castro brothers to say 12 Hail Mary's each and all will be forgiven.

    What a result!

Ha, ha, ha, ha, The Dope is just that and the Castro brothers are pulling his plonker, but heh, it gives him a rest from TMBOA pulling it.

The visit to Cuba of Pope Francisco is perfectly fitting with U.S. president Barack Obama's steps to normalize relations with the island and is part of growing recognition of Latin American countries to seek their own destiny.
As Spanish colonialism was brought to an end, the world's then dominant powers quickly set up neo-colonial dominance throughout Latin America, setting up the stage for two more centuries of dependency and repression.
The Cold War exacerbated the stronghold on our countries when the U.S. sought to stop any repetition of the Cuba experienced, even if it meant supporting murderous dictatorships.
Now it's dawn time for democracy and self-determination in Latin America. Francisco understands it and is making a huge contribution to this process during his papacy.

Enrique makes some very succinct comments @2.
Many of which I agree with.

However, I still believe, that over-all, the Catholic Church has a negative impact on Latin America.

Yes this came up a few weeks back. The BsAs Herald used to walk a fine line and be fairly neutral but recently fell into K supporters hands.

”During the military dictatorship in Argentina (1976-1983) The Buenos Aires Herald, under the direction of the British journalist Robert Cox, was the only local media that told the story of the forced disappearances of people from the opposition to the regime. Due to this, Cox was detained for a while and his family received threats, and an attempt to kidnap his wife was made. This forced him to leave the country with his family in 1979.“

I was chatting with a long-standing friend in BsAs and she asked for an update on some of the issues we have been discussing here as she put it, ”It is really hard for us to get news that is not straight out of the K's propaganda machine”.

No, you should read across the whole spectrum to get the information to form an educated opinion. You can cross-reference to pick out the lies with ease.

“but heh, it gives him a rest from TMBOA pulling it.”

No rest in Cuba. Another attempt at getting him to push the Malvinas myth between grunts and gasps.
