The oil and gas operations being undertaken by Italy's Edison International S.p.A. on the Argentine continental shelf near the disputed Falkland Islands are illegal and clandestine, the Argentine Energy Ministry said Tuesday. Read full article
Who cares what Argentina declares?
l declare Argentina to be illegal & to be thieves & murderers as they murdered the rightful owners of Patagonia & thieved their land.
So Argentina is also guilty of stealing from dead people.
Of course we all know that they are liars also.
Witness their continued ridiculous lies about their ownership of the Falklands.
lncompetent bunglers.
There are times when I feel almost sorry for the argies, well almost.
They just cannot help making themselves the laughing stock of the world, pitifully supported by the likes of Kiki Mashed Potato Head crowing from Canada as to how great TMBOA and her 'government' is.
Can't stop laughing at it all myself. I declare Argentina British and Spanish ilegal. Now I will go away and try and think how I am going to implement it all
“illegal”, ban operations, “authorities with jurisdiction”, seizure of $156.4 million, confiscation of property, Argentine government barred exploration.
Gosh, it does sound like they have been very busy.
No mention anywhere that none of these “court orders” are in anyway enforceable, well, not without starting a war at least.
”clandestine“ – Can’t decide whether they, really don’t know what it means, or are deliberately misusing it for over effect?
of course the activities of edison oil in OUR continental shelf are totally illegal.
who the f*ck gave them permission to do that?
but what it is worse is that the whole bunch of bennies are totally illegal and clandestine.
they should ask for a visa, which would be immediately denied, of course.
@10: of course the activities of edison oil in OUR continental shelf are totally illegal. who the f*ck gave them permission to do that? We did Paulie. And it's not on your continental shelf either. You've been told before, you are on a separate shelf to the Falklands. And seeing as they're drilling within the FICZ, and we let them, there's nothing you can legally do about it! Well, you could go to the ICJ I suppose....... Waiting to see how that turns out.
How is it clandestine? Do you lot know what clandestine means?
And they don't need a visa, they need a licence. Which they have.........
pcIV is just paulcedron/cara de orto podrido under a new guise. I think the moderator is already on to him so we have to put up with his idiocies for a few days longer.
Nobody cares a penguin's fart about what the corrupt, bankrupt, criminal, cowardly Kirchner regime says about the Falklands. But illegal and clandestine are perfectly appropriate words to describe the embezzlement of millions from the Argentine people by Kirchner and her pet pygmy, Hector Timerman. Just as the noose is tightening around the neck of Brazil's Dilma Rousseff, so will justice be done to Argentina's crooked duo. Jaime Stiuso knows everything. Wait and see.
By the way, it's good to notice our little pal pcIV has sneaked back on here during a break from his potty-training. In fact we smelt him before we spotted his name. Welcome back, nene. We all love having you around.
2-Try illegally invading again and see how it works when the UK doesn't limit it's forces to the Falklands.
No easy let off next time-don't forget to take a lot of white flags with you.
3/- Go to the UN (This has had a zero effect for you since the 1960s).
4/- Winge and whine.
5/- Send another yacht to the Falklands but this time you could try manning it more than a few miles out from Argentina. It'll get you nowhere but might make you feel better. A word of advice, if the 'Elephant Seal' comes on board, it will capsize but in any case, you will not be able to keep enough pies on board to keep Maximo fed for more than two days.
Illegal: contrary to relevant laws.
clandestine: kept secret or done secretively
Can anyone, including the Argentinians please explain how the operations carried out are a) illegal, as they do not contravene FIG laws or b) clandestine as no one is trying to, or capable of, hiding the oil rig drilling in FIG territory?

No power = No authority
The Falkland Islands have more authority than Argentina.
