With less than a week to Argentina's presidential election next Sunday, the latest reliable public opinion polls indicate a very close race with the incumbent and leading candidate hovering very close to the magic 40% of ballots needed to win in the first round and thus avoid a runoff a month later. Either way it will hit 16.50 very soon
1 Conqueror: I m agree with you, but Scioli , I hope would not be worst than CFK admnistration. Just in case I have my european passport updated.
Oct 19th, 2015 - 02:10 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Scioli will need a bulk order of Vaseline for when TMBO puts her hand up his culo.
Oct 19th, 2015 - 05:44 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Sorry about the mental picture of the 'puppet' folks!
According to Conqueror at #1 and Klingon at #3, Argentina is falling off the cliff. In the meantime, Scioli, the governing Victory Front candidate, is expected to get around 40 per cent of the ballots.
Oct 19th, 2015 - 07:35 pm - Link - Report abuse 0However, it is well known that no population will endorse those responsible for destroying a country's economy.
Something is wrong with this picture, but our valiant commentators won't let a few facts get on the way of their apocalyptic predictions.
Puppet, strings , CFK springs to mind.
Oct 19th, 2015 - 07:42 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Reekie, just like you there are many dumb peasants who have been bought off and believe the Peronist line of shit and that everything is just dandy.

Everyone who has brains will keep the savings in USD as just like last time they will announce drastic measures straight after the election.
@6 I am in Canada at the moment. Who are you hoping will win the election?
Oct 19th, 2015 - 09:05 pm - Link - Report abuse 027 billion in U$ reserves are earmaked. 7 billion Past due imports, 11 billion due to Chinese swaps, 7 billion private U$, 2 billion in a coming due french loan. Not to mention growing trade deficits, budget deficits growing at an increasing rate. Lack of imports and skyrocketing inflation. Sure #6 Quique, these are really signs of a utopia in the works.
Oct 20th, 2015 - 10:42 am - Link - Report abuse 0Quique you are a perfect hypocrit talking how good the government of Argentina is, being totally ignorant to what they do to hard working people, all the while you wave your pompoms like a cheerleader. safely and comfortable way up in British Columbia.
Quique if you ever get the Old Montreal, there is a great Argie restuarant. Try it, it will be the closet you will most likely ever get to see of Argentina.

Oct 21st, 2015 - 12:40 am - Link - Report abuse 0So pleased you were in Canada and able to see the absolutely brilliant win of Liberal Justin Trudeau (yes, Pierre Trudeau's son) and the crushing defeat of Conservative PM Stephen Harper.
An ideologue with an extremely backward Conservatism, Harper attempted to turn Canada into a bad imitation of a U.S. state. Canadians are patient, but this time they had enough and kicked out Harper for good.

Your calculations attempt to back up your fervent desire of failure in Argentina, but of course there are many factors you do not take into account. The country's national industry is now working--not dead like in 2001--and the domestic market is much stronger than it ever was, and therefore much more resilient than it was 15 years ago.
Keep dreaming, Cptn.
Stronger than 15 years ago....agreed. And do yiu think it's stronger than last year....two years ago 3....4. 5 years ago? Gave you seen Puerto Madero in the past two years? Have you experienced the regular power outages for days? What industry are you reading about now? It's funny how life looks grand from 6,900 Miles away, try seeing the reality. BTW....what is Argentine middle class to you.......run and google.....or ignore tge question because you have no anwsers.
Oct 21st, 2015 - 01:33 am - Link - Report abuse 0As far as Scioli is concerned the fix is in and he is appointing his executive now.
Oct 21st, 2015 - 07:27 pm - Link - Report abuse 0It reminds me of the old communist saying, it goes like this:
'We have a new boss now'
'Oh, how is he (it was never a female)?'
'Same as the old boss'.
So TDC remains a cluster-fuck for the next five years at least.
Perhaps by then it won't exist in the form it is now. Razed to the ground would be my preference.

Sorry to disappoint you Chris. If Scioli does just a half-good job Argentina will keep growing as an independent country, and to hell with all those who would love to see it again in the grips of the IMF.
Chris forget it.....Argentina is lost, Quequi is a pedophile on the lame trying to get back in the graces of Argentina, as well as a complete hypocrite who has not seen Argentina in years. I can only hope he soon wakes to looking up at roots rather than down at the grass.
Oct 22nd, 2015 - 10:43 am - Link - Report abuse 0He has no clue what is is the wake the streets in Argentina anymore. He says industry is rising.......and looks at a couple of months of activity and points to trends.
Chris, notice that Venezuela is having a vote and will not allow OAS observers.....only UNASUR....they will not allow Brazil to observe. Argentina is Abstaining from observing. Kirchners ulitimate goal........Venezuela/Cuba.....their role models.
As for lifting people out of poverty.......well over 30% still live on a few pesos a day. for a tiny nation of 40 million, why are they not getting them jobs?
