Disclaimer & comment rulesSBM have a simple equation to work out: the cost of agreeing and payinf the government 'bribe' dressed up as the result of 'investigations' versus the ongoing lost profit to their business if they loose their contracts. Profit is an element of turnover in a well run business. Once government interference is in play profit can so easily vanish.
Oct 23rd, 2015 - 07:10 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Remember also that no other company in the world would want to deal with Brazil while DumbAss and The Chief crook Lula are still loose. Who is to know where the next demand for a bribe will come from and subsequent 'action'.
Looks like a close call to me.

Oct 23rd, 2015 - 07:21 pm - Link - Report abuse 0the way PB is going, slashing investments and selling off assets, there may not be too many contracts left out there for SBM...
But I agree 100%, as long as fat D and the 9-fingered toad are around, things aren't going to get any better....but they may well get worse.
Expect a number of these paybacks in the future.

Sure Brazil's oil belongs to Brazil.....and it is already VERY clear that PB alone does not have the necessary capital to get it out.......the fact that all the recent sub-salt contracts signed, require that PB be a 30% minimum partner in every oil field, is highly prejudicial....its capacity has been stretched so thin, to the point where it can no longer do everything properly. And what makes your naive little brain believe that the other countries (the BRICS) will want to become charitable institutions for Brazil ?? Wake up you dope head.
