Brazil's scandal-plagued state oil giant Petrobras on Thursday announced third-quarter losses of about US$ 1 billion, mainly due to the sharp devaluation of the Brazilian currency.Petrobras, mired in a hugely damaging scandal involving bribes and high-level political payoffs, posted losses of 3.76 billion Reais in the quarter, compared with a loss of 5.3 billion Reais a year earlier. That I know the third quarter is included in the first nine months of the year. So Petrobras in the nine months of the year had a R$ 2.1 billion profit already included the loss of 3Q.

Second, your statement “What makes the company one of the most profitable in the world right now.”, is pure, unadulterated shit.......Profit is something that occurs when your revenue surpasses all your expenses, plus taxes and interest payments....with USD 130 billion in debt, PB won't be profitable for a long time....a fact reflected by the value of the shares, not worth the paper they are printed on.
