Argentina is sending their pride of the fleet Libertad and private motor cruisers in fact anything that can stay afloat for more than ten minutes. LOL
All passengers safely rescued and taken ashore by Search and Rescue Helicopters and others, some taken from lifeboats onto HMS Cyde. Small firefighting crew still aboard with R.Navy assistance and 2 large Oil rig Support Tugs now on scene with powerfull water pump and fire fighting facilities.
Sister Line French Cruise ship due shortly to assist transferring passengers from HMS Clyde to Stanley.
Your Comment#1 is there really any need to mention neighbouring countries? Time to move on and realise things happen in the South Atlantic without reference to neighbours. Well done to all those involved in the rescue.
@3. You think? Doesn't every maritime country have a duty to assist vessels in distress? Thought argieland claimed the Falkland Islands. Yet it can't despatch even one aircraft or vessel to assist? Because it's incapable, incompetent or doesn't care because L'Boreal flies the French flag. Can't go upsetting Daesh/Iran.
It's like someone who was bullied at school, and 30 years on, still feels the need to refer to the bully. Look at me, I got a new job. Better than that bully's job. There is no need to mention the bully, and to do so repeatedly shows severe unresolved issues. Please, try to move on, and think about how well the Falklands are doing, without reference to the neighbour/bully.
We are told that the FALKLANDS are on the same continental shelf as South America, some assistance from neighbours would't go amiss. Not mentioning any names , but if the cap fits then wear it.
Very impressive response - 6 helicopters (3 SAR machines to lift from ship to shore plus 3 further aircraft to transfer passengers onwards to town), Hercules and Airbus A330 for comms/top cover. Tug and Rig supply vessel, Royal Navy, and the Cruise Liner's sister ship all on site within a few hours of the distress call. Accommodation for all 347 available at short notice within the community, using the established emergency protocols. Well done all round.
Ha ha. I usually don't look in the 'Falklands' or 'Argentina' sections of this site since because Mercopenguin is nothing more than a British Government run propaganda operation - any articles in those two sections are no more than low grade British propaganda. And nothing confirms that knowledge more than this article.
A note to British government propagandists: It is in your interest not to be so obvious. The idea is to mislead your audience, not to provide them with comic relief.
But, I suppose, it is possible that this article was filed by Mercopenguin's Falklands correspondent to the head office in Montevideo where it was edited. I wonder what would happen if I called the numbers in Uruguay.
Speaking of foreign correspondents how is Mercopenguin's Washington correspondent? I trust he is well.
You do realise that Mercopress picks up stories from a wide range of news services and independent journalists across the Internet and reprints them, right?
Justice for murdered Nisman!
Argentina, pay your debts.
