A construction firm from Grimsby, Fast-Form Systems has won a £200,000 contract with the British Ministry of Defense to support the construction of soldiers' accommodation blocks in the Falkland Islands. Read full article
@1. No reason to leave. It's British territory. As accepted by the UN. And now spreading out from Mount Pleasant to ”remote hilltop locations? More permanent anti-aircraft missile sites?
Not 'spreading out' just making existing facilities more habitable. As I understand it, the materials will be pre-fabricated, shipped out and erected by the Royal Engineers.
I am awaiting news of the other eagerly awaited new projects in the Falklands that reportedly include an extension of the existing Stanley Tube, the new dual carriageway, the dedication of the Science and Technology Research wing of the university, and the indoor football stadium.
I have heard, (hic!), from certain well placed-sources... ( ;-) that this is merely a cover operation for the new sub-terranean Command & Control Centre of The Top-Secret New & Improved Death Star!
---
Naturally, I will be submitting an article, and the actual designs, (which I wrote on the back of a cigarette packet in the pub, this afternoon), to Pagina 12.
I expect to receive a rather large money-order presently!
They' spread out ' from MPA nearly 30 years ago but updating the accommodation is good news, and revamping the weapons systems there ensures the Islanders can continue to progress in security.
@7 ilsen,
Good thing that you didn't mention the Missile Silos & the tunnel to the sea for our Submarines.
Don't want the RGs to know too much about our offensive, err that is defensive capabilities.
