UK Prime Minsiter David Cameron blasted Jeremy Corbyn's comments at Prime Minister's Question confirming his government's full support for the Falkland Islands to decide on their future and develop their economy. At the weekend, the Labour leader claimed it was “ridiculous” the UK was still in dispute with the Argentina over South Atlantic islands, as he demanded “sensible dialogue” over the Islands. “that will not happen as long as I'm in Downing Street.”
Not quite the same as saying......that will never happen...
Safe for at least 3 years...
...unless of course, he has to resign when the Brexit goes pear shaped...

Also won't happen as long as the islanders don't wish to any part of Argentina.

The next opportunity that Argentina has for talks on the subject has been set. For April, 2096.

Cameron needs to confirm the same thing weekly nowadays.

As the Labour Party have now contradicted Corbyn by pointing out that recognition of the islanders right of self-determination is Party policy, I rather suspect that no Labour PM would go against that. In any case, it has long been recognised that the suggestion of handing over the Falklands would be 'political suicide' for any Party in Britain.

Not that Corbyn appears likely to ever be PM.

I have noticed a lack of understanding of political language @1.

The Labour Party are actively working on damage limitation over Corbyn's ill-informed comments.

Nothing has changed and nothing will change unless the Falkland Islanders wish it.

Every Scot costs England more than every Falkland Islander. And there's 5 million Scots! The answer is obvious.

David Cameron tells new Argentinian President: 'Absolutely clear' Falkland Islands want to remain British
The Prime Minister told Mauricio Macri that it was “absolutely clear” Islanders wanted to remain British and that any debate about its sovereignty had been settled by a recent referendum.

Unlike certain other argentos who will remain nameless, Macri may be possessed of the sort of wisdom that seeks to avoid seeing what remains of the Argentina armed forces lying on the bottom of the Atlantic. He may not be the best possible leader for Argentina but even someone who has generally the right ideas is a great deal better than those who are simply, monumentally, unproductively stupid.

@12: Dearest Klingon, you don't appear to have read this article correctly. What is there to moan about? In which pub? You might whinge about what Cameron has said, but he has only reiterated the case as it stands.

    @12
“about at the Pt Stanley pub!”

I was not aware that there was a pub in Stanley named 'The Port Stanley' pub.

And why would the old codgers only moan in the one pub as there are several?

Would all the folks in the other pubs not be moaning then?
