Pope probably begged him to chase after his friend Kristina's corruption and stolen loot.

Wonder if he ever brought up the corruption thing with cfk? Or her two bastard grandchildren...doesn't the church frown on sex outside of marriage? Or are the children of rich, corrupt politicians exempt?

It's a long way to go to meet a man in a dress, kiss his ring and then get shown the door after 20 minutes. I'm quite sure his needs would have been met at home.
