She is hardly “siding” with him

Seems to be a very measured reaction to what is happening in neighbouring regional power.

    oooh! CIRCLE THE WAGONS!!!!

I think she quietly shitting herself.
“Malcorra was most cautious, “we must not make public opinions on the internal affairs of Brazil, ...”
but she does anyway, the fool.

He is a crook, as the whole world has known for a very long time, yet this has 'taken her by surprise' ??
Yep, and the Sun will rise tomorrow.
Who'd have thought that will happen?

The only 'surprise' is the fact that Brazil is doing something about the entrenched corruption of the ruling class.

'...we must not make public opinions on the internal affairs of Brazil, even when it is true that anything that happens in Brazil has a tremendous impact on Argentina, because they are our main trading partner”, and we have a strategic alliance...'

...And because anti-corruption outbreaks of this magnitude have an unpleasant habit of spreading into neighbouring countries, she didn't add...

Afterall, one crook normally sympathises with another.

It should have been: Malcorra sides with Brazil, “hard to believe” what Brazil is going through.

Miss Malcorra - must be Miss, 'cause no-one could be stupid enough to marry something that ugly - it is obvious that you are either just another politician that spews crap to appear sympathetic in the eyes of the left-wingers and radicals, or you are ignorant and very badly informed. The Lula Rat is no more than a semi-illiterate, common criminal, elected by a bunch of ignorant assholes. If you had any brains, you'd look into Lula's past , and would see that this storm has been brewing for a long time ; or perhaps you are suprised that the Law would catch up with the SOB someday ?.....inform yourself better about the (Mensalão and the ) Lava-Jato and stop boring us with your politically correct bs.

What,I wonder,do all these giant banana republics have against simple democratic government with the appropriate controls on corruption of all kinds?
I mean, they only have to ring the FCO and implement the plan.
And if they want an easier answer, phone the French, because even they do it better than almost all the South American pseudo states.
Chile might just be the exception.

What a prize idiot, Susana Malcorra, keep Lula at bargepole distance or risk to go down with him, and keep the Macri government out of the huge corruption scandal in B (shortly no more a part of BRICS).

“It is hard to believe that a figure with such a record is involved in a criminal case of corruption”

Surely that is what they are trying to establish in the courts !

Lula was first appeared on the scene in the very late 60's / early 70's, when the Military regime was in power. It is a notorious fact that after working for only a very short period at the Mercedes Benz factory, he deliberately stuck his little finger in the lathe so that he could be declared invalid and be retired prematurely, in order to dedicate himself to his activities as leader of the powerful Metalurgical Union. The fact that he was declared an invalid for the loss of the small finger on his left hand, is absurd. It's also well known that the Unions in SBCampo were a hotbed of subversion and corruption, so one can imagine the corrupt SOB he was to have gotten to the top. He was later 'used' by the left-wing politicians who were coming back from exile after the end of Military rule, and was sponsored by them as a popular political leader....then he grew into the corrupt, socialist, thieving prick that he is.....we all know the rest. Mensalão, Petrolão, country home in Atibaia, triplex flat in Guarujá......an interesting fact is that when he left the Presidency a the end of 2010, he loaded 10 containers with loot from the Presidential Palace : tons of furniture and decorations, the Palace's audio-visual system, the Palace's wine-cellar, over 60 boxes of Scotch and other expensive drinks, and anything he thought that might be useful to him and his familty. As it happens, within the scope of the Lava-Jato, the Federal Police have tracked a lot of these 'stolen' objects to the country home in Atibaia, which he claims is not his.....
