Apr 16th, 2016 - 10:47 am - Link - Report abuse 0The former Foreign Minister for Uruguay, but not so secret rent-boy for Dovena the bloated argie 'Ambassador and confident of TMBOA who operated in our country as if he owned it (like all argies who come to PdleE).
Mujica only did one sensible thing during his presidency and that was to get rid of this arsehole.
Of course he disagrees with the impeachment, it's too close to how he would be thrown out of office if they could find somebody else, preferably with a spine and a brain, to do his job.
It shows just how dumb DumbAss Dilma is getting close to this idiot.
Will it help her? Ha, ha, ha, she is beyond help whether she survives the vote or not, she is as good as finished now.
In view of her low popularity - around 10% largely amongst the majority of the ignorant population - and due to her own incompetence to govern; more dignified way out for her will be to resign on her own.
Apr 16th, 2016 - 11:21 am - Link - Report abuse 0But instead; if she prefers to be kicked-out; then that's what she thinks she deserves!
Wow talk about outside influence. Isn't this the sort of influence and imperialism that so many politicians in South America rail against continually?
Apr 16th, 2016 - 11:54 am - Link - Report abuse 0Different when it appears to be on your side!
However it is interesting that the author of this piece (either not fluent in English or subject to an extremely bad translation) states ”Our concern is not isolated, because the United Nations system and the Union of South American Nations (UNASUR) have voiced similar concerns....”
How did the author turn the following quotes into similar concerns?
“Brazil is a very important country and any political instability is a social concern for us,” U.N. Secretary General, Ban Ki Moon.
“We repeat the request to guarantee that the judiciary be respected, that the democratic institutions that Brazil fought for be respected and not be undermined by the process,” Spokesperson for the U.N. High Commissioner for Human Rights Ravina Shamdasani.
Neither one of those quotes is support for Roussef!
They are support for Brazil's constitution and Brazilian institutions. Neither of which are Roussef, she is subservient to both those.... not that you would believe it the way she has acted.
2 L0B0MAU …and due to her own incompetence to govern;
Apr 16th, 2016 - 04:59 pm - Link - Report abuse 0The plunge that Rousseff and the country have taken has laid bare the frailty of Brazil’s commodity-driven growth….they patched over the structural problems that made Brazil a creaky, onerous place to do business. …Productivity remained low because the workforce was badly trained and poorly educated.

”Brazilian Economy Can Easily Recover, Says Nobel Prize Winner Paul Krugman; ..Brazil has what it takes to get out of the present crisis as soon as the inflation drops…. The economist said the Brazilian economy is more solid than in the past, especially regarding the external accounts. He also said the current inflation is fuelled by the high exchange rate and not by structural factors as in the 90's.

It seems that all the reasons for the present economic malaise were already built into the society. According to the Washington Post, Brazil failed to invest in education or diversify the economy. So this failure is also the fault of all previous governments as well. But perhaps you could expand on your insights and enlighten us as to what you believe the present government should have done?
Why doesn't idiot Almagro mind his own business....who is he, to tell the Brazilian Supreme Court what the impeachment process should be ?
Apr 17th, 2016 - 04:39 pm - Link - Report abuse 0But he should be thankful he has the right to express his opinion, regardless of how senseless it is. He conveniently ignores she lied about illegal loans to cover the gaping hole she made in the budget, that she lied about the economy to get re-elected, that she was elected with funds that were diverted from PB.......there are many other accusations, but surely those 3, plus the fact that her stubborness in taking her populist policies to the point of breaking Brazil, are sufficient for any one not stupid to want to get rid of her....Anyway, it's up to Congress to decide, and I hope that the congressmen who are in favour of seeing her ousted, don't succumb to bribes the PT is offering them to change their vote.

I too disagree with the impeachment. It's too much of a waste of time & money.
Apr 17th, 2016 - 05:30 pm - Link - Report abuse 0You Brazilians can just kick her out instead. In any case in Brazil, everyone is treating democracy as yet another a Political Joke.
As NPR's Lourdes Garcia-Navarro(https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lourdes_Garcia-Navarro) explains, She's accused of juggling federal accounts to make the economy seem better than it was before her re-election in 2014. The case is viewed as insubstantial by many legal analysts, Lourdes adds.
Apr 17th, 2016 - 09:53 pm - Link - Report abuse 0As The New York Times reports, ”some of the most vocal lawmakers pushing to impeach Ms. Rousseff are facing serious charges of graft, electoral fraud and human rights abuses,

Vice President Michel Temer, … has been accused ..an illegal ethanol-purchasing scheme. Renan Calheiros,,… under investigation ..he received bribes.., Petrobras. No one doubts that this impeachment process is a typical case of the pot calling the kettle black, but aside from the actual crimes she committed, whether impeachable offences or not, her part in dragging Brazil down into the gutter, cannot be ignored and cannot go unpunished. And, as such, getting the fat cow impeached, for whatever reason, is good enough for me and most Brazilians.
Apr 18th, 2016 - 06:04 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Her Miserable Performance, Incompetence, Mismanagement, High Popularity [mostly among the ignorant masses] & Scandals-Drowned Ruling Party are not enough reasons for her to quit on her own. She still wants to be glued to her seat! :o))
Apr 20th, 2016 - 09:11 pm - Link - Report abuse 0The fat cow should simply look at the mess she has got Brazil into.....anyone who is a true patriot, would realize they have fucked up and the best solution would be to leave, without subjecting the country to all this economic disaster and political instability.....and to allow the Federal Police to do their job, without interfering and trying to block the investigations.

Apr 22nd, 2016 - 05:01 pm - Link - Report abuse 0The bad news is that there are no saints & no patriots in the Business of Politics.
For the name-sake; the never-ending inquiries are going on and on. Only a few of the “Privileged Corrupt” are enjoying their prison-sentences but a majority of them is not only free but also is still In-Command!
Among many other nefarious activities, it is Highly Likely that through different actions [- the corrupt among Pro or Against One Party or Another & those against one movement or the other -] some potent forces are surreptitiously active behind the backs of their own fellow-countrymen; by “not-so-democratic” means:
- To use the media for Mass-Brainwash
- To negotiate among themselves for a greater Power-Grab
- To facilitate more corruption
- To cover their tracks & hide the facts or mix facts with fiction
- To limit the social media for restricting activities which do not favor them.
One needs to re-vitalize the olfactory senses ; for not yet being able to SMELL A RAT!

Apr 23rd, 2016 - 04:53 pm - Link - Report abuse 0I am aware that there are no Saints or Patriots in the business of politics, but as others have already pointed out, if the cow were the CEO of a company she had just bankrupted, she'd be fired ......and would probably get a golden handshake.
Nevertheless, the cow and the rat are such corrupt, brazen-faced liars, they aren't even ashamed of the mess they've caused.
