Siemens and Spain's Gamesa merge to create global wind energy giant

German industrial megalith Siemens and Spanish wind energy giant Gamesa have announced they will merge their wind energy businesses.     I thought Siemens had more business sense than to get bogged down with this Spanish outfit.

    The trend in Europe is away from land based windmills to offshore installations because the users have now realized that they need more wind to drive the useless things.

    That has been admitted by the main UK installer.

    As if it were news!
