A group of Brazilian scientists has just discovered a drug-resistant super-bacteria growing off some of Rio de Janeiro’s beaches, with less than a month to go until the 2016 Olympic Games officially commence, which will be hosted by the city from August 5. Read full article

At one time, people were told not to drink the water or take ice in their drinks when they went abroad. Now it seems that even paddling is dangerous. Countries all around the world will be sending their finest athletes and competitors to the Brazilian Olympic Games. And they will be greeted with an at least 50% chance of death. There can be NO doubt. All the water sports MUST be cancelled. And if Brazil refuses to take such action, there are other options. The IOC could step in and cancel the whole Games. Unlikely because of how much money it makes. Or countries around the world could simply boycott the Games. That's been done before. And it should be a 100% boycott. And on top of that, Brazil should be made to actually PAY. To compensate athletes and competitors for their time and money spent. To compensate national olympic committees. To compensate ticket holders. And most of all, Brazil should not be allowed to bid for the Games or compete in them until it has cleaned up its country!

Anybody from the West who attends this disaster waiting to happen must be made to pay for their own health care and not leave it to the citizens of the countries they 'represent'.

Brazil has sunk to a new low even for them. How many times did they rebuke those scientists who claimed this was how things were going to be?

I don't know about impeaching DumbAss Dilma it should be death by hanging for overseeing this potential human catastrophe.

Oh so its a surprise that the sea is full of raw sewage, when raw sewage is what is being pumped in daily? Do we need scientists to be telling us this.
