It certainly is a last ditch effort, DumbAss Dilma to the power 2.

The electorate of Brazil seem to have the same choice as those in America, they are both as bad as each other.

Still, it's only the largest country in SA!

For what it's worth, she might as well have written her “letter” on bog paper. Then Congress could have used it the way it deserves to be.

My understanding of the Brazilian Constitution is that there is no provision for an out of term election.

As Temer's performance at the Olympics indicates there is no way that his administration can survive to the 2018 elections. Also he cannot run for president - or even VP.

No, it is what a politically motivated organisation thinks (which is ind of ironic, given the comments in the article), and t is also is what you think and what you wish the Brazilian people would think.

Whilst I tend to agree that it is a pretty nasty and anti-democratic business that gives every impression of being a coup, there is no denying the fact that polling and public opinion on the streets quite simply doesn't support your assertion that it is “what the Brazillian people think”.

It is no more than what a minority of Brazillian people think. But then again, that is kind of the point .. perhaps that is because of the influence of a media that has become partisan. Then again, it could just be that people have seen how power has undeniably corrupted Dilma Rousseff, as it has so many other Marxist-Leninists who make their way to the top of the pile and waste no time in betraying what brought them to power. .

Your understanding ?? I don't think you understand very much about the provisions in the Brazilian Constitution regarding Presidential elections.

If Dilma had resigned , or had kicked-the-bucket (by far the best solution), or is impeached - as everything points to that she will be - the Vice-President takes over. In the case he too is impeded for any reason, then the President of the Lower House is sworn it. If he too cannot become president (let's say, has his mandate revoked) , then the president of the Supreme Court becomes president for the rest of the presidential mandate. If there are rules providing for succession if none of the above happens, I don't know, but it is unlikely that situation will occur.

“As Temer's performance at the Olympics indicates......” ?? in what event is Temer competing ? If politicians were, the event might be called “throwing the shit” , but just to correct you, Temer CAN run for President in 2018 , or as VP - provided he wants to and is not also removed between now and 2018.

As to your links, I suppose you are aware that this “rioonwatch” is just another left-leaning site that promotes biased opinions from people who have not been exactly 'successful' in life ; most of it is crap, but lapped up by the idiots ; take a look at this links “journalist” - Cleber A. Santos :

“Cleber Araújo Santos, 40, was born in Monte Pascoal, Bahia. Today, as a resident of Complexo do Alemão, he showcases the favela in in its many forms and moments through social media.”

Where does he reside ? in one of the most violent 'favelas' of Rio. He criticizes the Public Administration , in many cases justifiably, but when he talks about the violence, he forgets that it is the residents of these 'favelas', willingly or not, who turn a blind eye to the drug gangs and violence, a lot of which is why the 'official' State keeps its distance from these 'communities'..
