Falkland Islands Holdings PLC on Thursday tabled plans to change its name to FIH Group PLC, as it said profitability in the first five months of its financial year was at a lower level than the prior year. Falkland Islands Holdings, which owns services businesses based in the UK and the Falkland Islands, said it will change its name to FIH Group, subject to shareholder approval, to more properly reflect the balance of the group's activities. Its activities are now predominantly in the UK and Europe. Read full article

Sep 07th, 2016 - 06:41 pm - Link - Report abuse 0” The company said the timing of the name change was “heavily linked to a recovery in the oil price” and said the recent progress by London-listed Premier Oil PLC in preparing the ground for the commercial production of oil from its Sea Lion field and lowering field costs was “very encouraging”....

You decide. Please vote here.
Regarding Falklands oil exploration, Argentine Foreign Minister Jorge Taiana stated in February 2010, that his Government would take 'all measures necessary to preserve our rights' and also reiterated that Argentina had a 'permanent claim' on the islands, saying 'Buenos Aires would complain to the UN over the oil project and might take the case to the International Courts of Justice in the Hague.

Isn't the latest from Malcorra that she wants Argentina to join in oil exploration again?

Sep 08th, 2016 - 07:09 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Macri really does need to get to grips with the Malvinas crap before he loses all credibility he MAY have internationally.
Leaving The Malevolent Midget Malcorra in place is making him look weak after her abysmal performance in attempting the UN move.
Is The Dark Country really so bereft of competent people to 'rule' the place?

Sep 10th, 2016 - 12:20 pm - Link - Report abuse 0He claims to have shares which is why he whines all the time about them. But he's such a lying toerag you can never sure.
If he actually had shares at one time and he actually foresaw the values spiralling down to inevitable worthlessness and insolvency, do you not think that the Sage of Chubut would have sold them long ago.
Sep 10th, 2016 - 04:01 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Pure bullshit from the bullshit artist himself.
Really, why is this even in question - it is a tool he uses to sow doubt on any occasion he can.
Think is not actually a person.
He would be more aptly described as a personification of an anti-UK agenda.

Sep 10th, 2016 - 06:16 pm - Link - Report abuse 0As a matter of fact, the story of my Malvinas oil shares is so good that it deserves to be shared....
Once upon a time it was a generous commentator in here who tried to convert me to the capitalistic ways by gifting me 50£ worth of FOGL shares...
The value of them shares continued to decrease until the take over of FOGL by RKH...
The value of them swapped shares is today about 3£...
Wonder if my benefactor.... that officer and gentleman, Mr. Doveoverdover ever got those worthless RKH share certificates...
Stop your foolishness, right now, Herr Think.

Anyhow, I just want to use this opportunity correct a couple of mistakes I made at my post 19.., We wouldn't want to be called liers, would we?....:
1) Mr. Doveoverdover did not donate any FOGL shares to me... They were BOR shares..
2) The value of them shares today is about 0£...
3) Below, some historical background of this gentlemanly story...:

May the sunday sun shine on you and the rest of the squatters...
El Think...
Well you should hang on to them,
Sep 11th, 2016 - 08:04 pm - Link - Report abuse 0they may well go up in value, and that may well give you an interest , not only in oil, and any profits,
but may change your opinion of the British Falkland islands,
after all, you would not want the greedy corrupt argies to control or destroy the, would you,
just a nice thought.
If the value of the shares is £0 now, then you were a fool to buy them, Mr. Think, and more of a fool not to sell if you have been predicting for years that they would become worthless.
Sep 11th, 2016 - 10:45 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Before you say you were misled, you know that any share purchase has an element of risk associated with unknown future of events. A world wide commodity slump should have been easily apparent to an all-knowing sage as yourself.
Ironic that you show moral indignation (all a pretense, in reality) that you failed to make a profitnspeculating on the labor of others.
Well Think if you can't trust yourself......
