Sep 10th, 2016 - 03:34 pm - Link - Report abuse 0You forgot the part of your estimate where the 2,768 heads aren't part of Argentina.
Sep 10th, 2016 - 04:20 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Just as international law does not require a state’s territory to be a minimum size, nor is there a minimum population requirement. Infinitesimal smallness has never been a reason to deny self-determination to a population. (‘The Right to Self Determination in Very Small Places.’ Franck T.M. and Hoffman P.L. 1976, P331, 383)

Think is one of those people that assumes the UK would rather hand over the Islands if they should become uninhabited. However judging my South Sandwich and South Georgia.... that ain't gunna happen either.
Sep 10th, 2016 - 05:15 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Think gets to die with the Falkland Islands still British..... or worse, independent!
Last census 2012, next 5-year census 2016??? The maths dont work through - do they? 5 year census would be 2017 would it not? Mathematicians lacking basic arithmetic at the outset? Doesnt bode well for a count.

Census 20012
Census 2016
Capisce?

Very observant Mr Think. Potentially a correction, but also 5 years at 2017 is election year (period). Potentially conflictive date and results might trigger exodus or gallows! Gives incumbent MLAs opportunity to change policies before seeking re-election maybe?

Sep 10th, 2016 - 08:33 pm - Link - Report abuse 0Wouldn't surprise me if that bunch tried to pull such one... if they could...
But they can't...
They are too closely monitored by the Mother Country, you know...
Hardly matters how many the Census comes up with - if it was only 2, they'd still have the right of self-determination.

Sep 11th, 2016 - 04:09 pm - Link - Report abuse 0If these islands become a country, I want my house is also a country.
Your house has over 2000 inhabitants?
Sep 11th, 2016 - 06:48 pm - Link - Report abuse 0If your house is run as well as Brazil, it'll fall down within months.
Does not matter how many of them live there,
Sep 11th, 2016 - 08:09 pm - Link - Report abuse 0they are Falkland islanders, who wish to remain British,
so it should have no interest to the ass they are up to something,
Just for information purposes.
The United Nations forced Tokelau to undertake two referenda on independence.
Sep 11th, 2016 - 11:49 pm - Link - Report abuse 02006 with 615 registered voters and 2007 with 789 registered voters.
Both failed.
Both show that there is no population requirement for independence according to the United Nations. Or anyone for that matter.
Mr. T Hill,
Sep 12th, 2016 - 04:04 am - Link - Report abuse 0Any dispute - is this an unqualified opinion?
Both show that there is no population requirement for independence according to the United Nations. Or anyone for that matter.
If this is going to be a sweepstake to guess the 9/10/16 FI population, my guess would be 2710, purely because oil developments have ramped down from 2012.
