McDonald's is suing the city of Florence for €18m after it was blocked from opening a restaurant on one of the Italian city's most historic plazas. The fast-food giant had its plans for an outlet on the Piazza del Duomo rejected by Florence's mayor in June and the decision was upheld in July by a technical panel in charge of preserving the city's ancient heart. Milan is famous for it's Piazza del Duomo with La Scala adjacent.

Radiating off the circular part of the pedestrian area are beautiful shopping malls, the architecture of which matches perfectly the area.

Within the beveled glass fronted sales establishments are cloths stores, a coffee shop and at least two restaurants from memory. All very high class.

Perhaps it's the McD 'arches' that is putting them off. :o)

Last time I was at La Scala Opera House in Milan it was not on the Piazza del Duomo but on the Piazza della Scala. I am in Milan at least once a year and I am certain they didn't move it.

I am also very certain Milan isn't in Florence; the subject of this article.

    @ EB

You need to stop being so clever and read what I posted.

I do realise with your blind hatred of all men and me in particular the red mist must make it difficult for you 'brain', such as it is, to grasp that:
“Milan is famous for it's Piazza del Duomo with La Scala adjacent”, ADJACENT!

As in the other end of the Galleria Vittorio Emanuele II, this being the main link comprising one of the “beautiful shopping malls, the architecture of which matches perfectly the area.”

Or are you claiming that La Scala gets more tourists than the RC cathedral, in an Italian city? Even an industrial one!

Anyway, it was the try on by McD's that Captain Poppy and I were discussing.

You can content yourself that you got one thing right though, “Milan isn't in Florence”.

    Well done for that.

Adjacent: next to or adjoining. It isn't next to or adjoining Piazza del Duomo or the cathedral.

Which opera did you go to see? What do you think of the acoustics of La Scala?

“Or are you claiming that La Scala gets more tourists than the RC cathedral,”

No, read my post. I realise you are blinded by your hatred of women but I didn't mention tourism at all.

“Anyway, it was the try on by McD's that Captain Poppy and I were discussing.”

Not really. You were not in a discussion at all. CP made a post about the article and you made a post about Milan. There was no interaction between the two of you.

Good riposte considering you are wrong.

BTW, did you see Tit's stating in the House she would 'stand up to Trump' regarding British Muslims. You know, the ones she claimed when she was in the Home Office for six failed years, that they pose no threat to the country.

She's not your sister is she, she's not old enough to be your mother? Same stupid attitude though by the sound of her.

In what way am I wrong? I know Milan well and anyone could look at a city map and see that you are wrong about the location of the La Scala Opera House. You didn't answer about La Scala, dId you go or did you just look at the outside like most tourists on a weekend break?

I don't know anyone called 'Tits' or “Tit's”.
