Venezuelan military fully involved in food staples illegal marketing and hoarding

The Venezuelan military is selling food staples at up to 100 times the government-mandated costs in illegal marketplaces, according to an independent media investigation. The black markets are carried out at all levels of the military from foot soldiers on up to generals. Read full article

    Maybe Elaine can tell us about how wonderful these different cultures are, how this is all blown out of proportion, that such travel will surely broaden our horizons and further our sympathy toward these exotic and exciting revolutionary governments.

    Ah, you value my opinion so much to mention me in a thread I haven't been posting in whilst avoiding answering questions in other threads where we have both been posting.

    My advice is DON'T go to Venezuela at this time. When a journalist friend was there last time she had a gun pointed at her head by one of the 50,000 Cuban troops there.

    That ML thinks Bolivia is anything like Venezuela makes me wonder about his judgement on all things South American.
