UK and US must drop failed military interventions “to remake the world in our image”

Prime Minister Theresa May has told US Republicans the UK and America cannot return to “failed” military interventions “to remake the world in our own image”. Suggesting a UK foreign policy shift, she said those days were over but added that the US and UK should not “stand idly by when the threat is real”. However the two countries must “renew the special relationship for this new age” and “lead together, again”. Read full article

Briton he is pulling a Trump and avoiding facts. Not to mentions 450 years ago, the new world was barely 75 years known.....and the USA had over 200 years to go in the making. Perhaps that is why he has a new name ....again.

Fidel Nostrils etc., would condemn the US/UK for reviewing its values, priorities, and strategies for the better, but at the same time he would criticize the U.K./US for not learning and moving with the times.

Either way, he is just a Troll, deflecting from the dysfunction of the isolationist, Bolivarian ideology of some SA politicians.

Wasn't the whole of South America conquered by the Conquistador Spaniards. Wiped out the bulk of the Indians, the Incas, stole all the gold? All we did was send El Drako to pinch it on the way back to HQ.

Main Argy heritage is Spaniard. OTOH Britain civilised much of the world, introduced democracy, rule of law.

    Think/Voice failed once again.

Wasn't the whole of South America conquered by the Conquistador Spaniards? x WRONG
0 for 1 (Brazil portuguese, 1/2 of Argentina and Chile remained indian territory)

Wiped out the bulk of the indians? x WRONG
    0 for 2 (diseases did)

Stole all the gold? x WRONG
    0 for 3 (a lot, but can't say ALL)

All we did was send El Drako? x WRONG
0 for 4 (you sent many more, thieves yourselves accusing others of being thieves... TYPICAL ANGLO)

Main Argy heritage is Spaniard? x WRONG
    0 for 5 (Italian)

OTOH Britain civilized much of the world, introduced democracy, rule of law. x WRONG
0 for 6 (you introduced disease, exploitation, usury, theft, religious intolerance, racial prejudice, invasive pests... that is all proven, but the others? Source??)

    Think failed?

You just got wiped out in 6 - LOVE.

Take your fantasies about Britain somewhere else, the entire world does not believe you anylonger and thus you see how you are being treated by the EU, Russia, China, and most of Latin America.

    @Kanye
I'm afraid it is hardly a controversial thing to say, though important to remember that some things are worth spreading even now we have recognised that it's wrong to try and force our culture on everyone.

Unfortunately the world seems to be getting worse, not better. The Arab Spring seemed so promising when it started, being a change from within, but it really hasn't worked out well. Yet another reason why the people who want to burn everything down and start again scare me. Revolutions so rarely work out as planned.

    @Trollboy
I have to disagree with your last point.

If you think people of any kind, from any part of the world, can't invent exploitation, usury, theft, religious intolerance, and racial prejudice all by themselves, then you clearly don't know any people. And certainly diseases existed long before humans did. Invasive pests is surely true, but it's not like Britain is the only country to do that, deliberately or accidentally.

    From Wikipedia:

”The Italian population in Argentina is the second largest in the world, by numbers, outside of Italy,[9] some 25 million people. Italians form a majority of the population of Argentina and neighbouring Uruguay as up to two-third have some Italian background; among the Latin American countries, only Brazil has more people of Italian descent (28 million, approximately 15 percent of Brazil's total population).”

So the Voice agrees with Argentine racial classifications, and Anglos are also by language and custom Anglos: Robert Mugabe (great at racial oppression) , Anglo, for example. Just like we see it in Argentina.

”Spanish folk speak Spanish. They may have Italian heritage ( great at retreating etc ) but by language and custom they are closer to Spanish“

    ”Spanish folk“

What does that mean, people born in Spain?
Therefore, ”...they are closer to Spanish“?

Argentine folk too, ”...speak Spanish. They may have Italian heritage ( great at retreating etc ) but by language and custom they are closer to Spanish“ but they are actually Argentine.

Amusing that Think/voice defines who is Spanish, or British, using the same pseudo-science that Snr. Nostrils uses to define ”Anglos”.

Only when it's convenient to him of course.

We can expect that to change, depending on the occasion.

The US no longer wants to lead. Neither in Europe with NATO, nor in Asia with the TPP, nor even in your own continent where you plan to build a wall to hide behind. Other countries will not be slow to exploit the power vacuums you are leaving behind.

If the US is not a theocracy, why do you have so many religious loonies?

Also why do you have a national prayer breakfast hosted by your president? Seems odd for a country with no official religion.

    Think
Your “memory” indicates either the onset of Alzheimer's disease OR the failure of your Argentine education system which also teaches the Great Malvinas myth.

As for the “Great Patriotic War”, the Soviets did a deal with Germany and tried to grab Finland. It then rebouded in their face ! Yes, they took the bulk of the casualties and wore down the Wermacht.

However, we did have little sideshows going on at sea, including suicide convoys to Archangel supplying the Soviets with materials, carrying the air war to Germany and some little sidelines in N.Africa. At the same time we had the Japanese to contend with.

I find the expression“the Great Patriotic War” a bit of a joke .

To say Britain did nothing is palpable crap, but is not unexpected from someone of your persuasion.

As for WW1, Russia packed it in in October 1917 leaving the UK and associated colonies, France and the USA as the remaining protagonists.

There is no such thing as a national prayer breakfast hosted by the US president. Where did you get that idea.

Also, there are no church bishops appointed to the US Congress. Similarly, the president of the US is not the head priest of the official state religion. In the UK the converse is true.

“If the US is not a theocracy, why do you have so many religious loonies?”

DT is that a serious question or rhetorical, because I would assume you know that answer, which essentially is embedded in this simple phrase:

“Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof;”

When you start tweaking anything on that first one, it becomes a slippery slope. How those 10 are interpreted, well therein is the cause of all the political fighting. While those who profess that the 1st and 2nd can NEVER be infringed upon while looking at the left, as quickly as they turn to the right, they have absolutely no compunction to burn the 4th,5th,6th and 8th.......all in the name of public safety. If anyone can reconcile and understand that logic, please, share it with me.

I wasn't being very serious when I asked it, but I would like to know why people in the US are so much more religious than in the UK or most of Europe. And also why many of them are 'fundamentalists' who believe in creationism and similar things.

I admire America's legal commitment to freedom of religion (and speech). But in practice we see people fighting to pass laws based on what their religious leaders tell them, and presidential candidates talking about how important god is to them. Do you think an honest atheist could be elected president in the US?

England (not the whole UK), does have an official state religion, but we are allowed to follow whatever religion we like, and most people are not very religious anyway. Our politicians don't usually talk about it much either.

I understand and I would love to understand that as well. However, bear in mind that they are people of faith and religious thumpers. The latter are the worst and generally hypocrites. These types tend to be from south of the Mason-Dixon line. They process to word of Jesus and hate everyone, gays, liberals.....I cannot figure them out. They give birth to organizations like the “MegaChurch” and many other religious pulpits. And, they give them unlimited amounts of money with their preachers personally being multi millionaires. Then this gives way for Newts “Contract with America” and the GOP wrapping the religion around their party. They are the party of family values......yet, many closets gays, multi divorces, etc etc.

No, I have not fucking clue about these religious nuts and why their are so many in the USA. All I know is that the GOP wants to become the Christian version of the Taliban. As long as they toss the bible thumpers 2nd amendment serenades, fear of immigrants, lies about entitlements, they get elected.

Trump is quickly learns that we are indeed a nation of laws and that POTUS is no all ruling.

Creationism - well there is a good start for dismissing real science whenever it becomes inconvenient or contradicts what they want to say - small jump to denying human rights to others or taking social responsibility for Global Warming.
