Can that be verified?
Macri's legitimate claim is going to work out as well as their 1982 invasion.

Mar 02nd, 2017 - 02:03 pm - Link - Report abuse +4Pretty moderate by recent Argy Pres standards, suppose he has to put something in there to avoid flack back home.
Mar 02nd, 2017 - 04:26 pm - Link - Report abuse +4Yes Snr Macri, Voice of Think and other muppets, the Royal Air Force, the Royal Navy and the British Army are on guard to maintain peace and security in the South Atlantic. Whilst the British government is funding the removal of land mines you illegally sowed during your invasion of the Falkland Islands. On South Georgia, the non native species have been largely removed together with the rats, animal and human, and in the seas around it and the Falkland Islands British patrols regulate fishing and protect threatened species.

Malcorra is so naive. The brits broke all agreements we made on the past, and they shall break them again. Only strong arm works with the pirates.
Mar 03rd, 2017 - 02:34 am - Link - Report abuse -8What agreements were broken by the UK LukeDig?
Mar 03rd, 2017 - 07:40 am - Link - Report abuse +7And your strong arm tactics have worked well so far. Your invasion in 1833. Failed. Ypur invasion in 192. Failed. Recent Argie attempts at economic containment....FAILLED!
During the 90s there was a good willed attempt to reach out to the island inmigrants, and there were several agreements signed with UK regarding taking care of the common resources, namely, the fish.
Mar 03rd, 2017 - 04:10 pm - Link - Report abuse -5Instead of that, they broke all the agreements on their own benefit, proceeding to give away cheaply fishing permits to known predator international fisheries, that vaccuum the sea and waste it to get it all. Of course, all fish to the UK, nothing for argentina, and that was only the beginning of the breaches...
You talk bollocks Luke. If you did research you will find it was Senor Kirchner that broke the agreements. Look and learn sonny.
Mar 03rd, 2017 - 04:16 pm - Link - Report abuse +4Macri: Dialogue strengthens our position and allows us to get closer to a definitive solution to this prolonged dispute”, argued Macri at the end of his long speech
Mar 04th, 2017 - 01:08 am - Link - Report abuse +4Absolutely. The definitive solution to the dispute is that the United Kingdom's BOT stays a United Kingdom's BOT and Macaroni chews spaghetti.
The Argentine president underlined the blessings of living in a zone of peace, “thanks to the strategic alliance with Brazil and Mercosur
Mar 04th, 2017 - 01:29 am - Link - Report abuse +4The 'zone of peace' in the South Atlantic is ensured by the British military presence in the Falklands and it is well that the Argentine President counts his blessings.
Agreements were broken before Kirchner rose to power, golfie.
Mar 04th, 2017 - 05:17 am - Link - Report abuse -5British peacekeeping what? that´s very laughable, considering it is a colonial outpost made to steal fish, oil and antartic territory
LukeDig ' colonial outpost made to steal fish, oil and antartic territory'
Mar 04th, 2017 - 06:05 am - Link - Report abuse +3No... thats Argentina.....
If it wasn't for the British cop on the beat in the Falklands, Argentina would be out of control, it would have stolen the Falklands by now and would be trying to impose its odious colonial presence upon all of the South Atlantic and a great swathe of Antarctica. The treaty notwithstanding.
Mar 04th, 2017 - 07:54 am - Link - Report abuse +4So its well for all in the region that Britain maintains a military presence in the area to ensure freedom of navigation and peace.
Argentina should be grateful for this benign British presence.
renewed Argentina's sovereignty “legitimate claim” over the Malvinas, Georgia and South Sandwich Islands
Mar 04th, 2017 - 11:53 am - Link - Report abuse +1Once again Proving that Argentina cannot be trusted,
No trade until the claim is dropped, but alas the British government has already ??????????
Money speaks, money buys , money corrupts,
Trust them at your peril
LukeDig - Fisheries revenue from the South West Atlantic does NOT nor EVER has accrued
Mar 04th, 2017 - 11:57 pm - Link - Report abuse +4to the British Govt. All revenue goes to the Falkland Islands Govt - who pay and control the zone and the aircraft and ships that patrol it.
Around South Georgia the income accrues to the South Georgia Govt, less patrol costs etc - and that goes towards keeping South Georgia an environmentally clean and pristine place as much as possible for the tourists.
A few years ago an Argentine Travel Tour Agent visited South Georgia on a USA cruise ship - his comment-thankfully South Georgia is British- had it been Argentine it would have been full of mess and pollution and well ruined by now!
Steal Antarctic Territory? - Its all frozen by the Ant Treaty anyway dumbo!
Oil- Yes likewise, when it is developed off the Islands all revenue will accrue
to the Falkland Islands Govt - not UK.
It was the Kirschener Dynasty who tore up all the agreements of the 1990s and then waged war against us in every respect other than lead in the sky. As a result the younger folks of the late 1990s who were starting to warm a bit towards Argentina as a possible friendly neighbour - now in their 30s and 40s - HATE and DISTRUST all and everything Argentinian even more than those ion their 60s and 70s who were here in 1982!
Fantastic Own Goals by you lot - it will take a generation of sensible Argentine Govts at least before we can get back to the better relations of the late 1990s!
And what are the chances of 25rs of sensible stable Govt in the Casa Rosada??
alliance with Brazil?

The UK helps keep the South Atlantic safe from any would be external aggressors, as Argentina are not contributing much to the defence of the region.
Therefore the British presence is good for South America.
High time the Argentines paid some money toward the British presence, to help keep the region safe.
