US technically enjoying full employment; but job creation is slowing down
The US unemployment rate fell to its lowest in almost a decade in March, despite the economy adding a smaller than expected number of jobs. Employers added 98,000 jobs last month - far fewer than the 180,000 expected by economists and less than half the figure for January and February.

MPs urge government to vote against new EU measures not in UK interest
The Government should be prepared to vote against new EU measures it believes are not in the national interest, even as it negotiates Britain withdrawal from the bloc, MPs have said. The Commons European Scrutiny Committee said, while it did not want the UK to be seen in Brussels a “wrecker”, EU legislative changes could make a “significant difference” to the context of the Brexit negotiation.

Positive outcome of ASSI visit to St Helena Airport
Senior Aerodrome Inspector, Justin Rothwell, and Air Traffic Services Inspector, Sarah Lee, from Air Safety Support International (ASSI), the regulator for St Helena Airport, visited the Island recently. The purpose of their visit, according to an official release from the Overseas Territory, was to undertake an audit to consider the extension of the certification of St Helena Airport.
