No we are not ! Unlike you we have had first hand experience of Trumps ethics when he lied about his intentions to build a golf course in Scotland. When he got permission, he reneged on all the promises he made. Look up Balmedie on google and see for yourself.

By the way, do you understand English ?

Where does it say he is banned from the UK. He has been offered a state visit...this still stands. He alone decided he would not come to open the new US Embassy.
He is scared to come as he will not get the sycophantic crowd he would like.

Do you really think that the great US public believe he is doing a great job for the USA.

He makes outrageous comments and then denies saying them despite TV evidence to the contrary

The USA now has a lower standing in the world than I can remember all due to this clown !

It'll be easy to get him there: all the ambassador needs to do is make sure a porn star ( or two ) are available, a room with a mini McDonald's and multiple TV screens is installed, and a plentiful supply of viagra made available, and watch how fast he scurries across the Atlantic!

Livingthedream is another person who mistakes offensiveness for honesty. Trump says what his supporters want to hear, and neither knows nor cares what the truth is. He's a braggart with a fragile ego though; he couldn't stand the fact he lost the popular vote, or that Obama got a bigger crowd than him, and he isn't willing to come to Britain and see what people really think.

Clyde, your answer is far too complex for Trump supporters. In future make sure all your words addressing them contain a maximum of four letters.

The question is why is this piece appearing in Mercopenguin, a British government propaganda organ supposedly devoted to America, South America and the “South Atlantic”?

Perhaps the GSA can sell the building and recuperate at least some of its cost since the facility will obviously be redundant in the near future.

The USA is not going to downsize its diplomatic presence to the UK.
Whether you hate Trump or not, he still has a large voter base supporting him.
He doesn't care what the world thinks...

    @Chicureo
Why does he lie about his popularity then? Why does he get so upset when people talk about his teeny-tiny hands? Why does he block people who criticise him on twitter? He cares alright.

State has new initiatives under development and implementation.

    Among them:

    Enhanced digital transactional services.

This is to eliminate much of the walk up customer traffic.

    Remote conferencing.

In addition to increasing productivity, travel and oversea employee costs are reduced and risks domesticated.

    Greater utilization of local contractors.

Some previously internal functions are to be outsourced. The exact scope of these hasn't been disclosed but its rumored that State may even contract for services with some local governmental units.

    Privatization of data collection.

Some previously internal functions are to be performed by multinational contractors and administered from the US.

These are only a part of the changes occurring and this redeployment of resources will effect a number of places - some dramatically, some not so much.

Some areas will receive a larger local presence.

It all comes down to strategic analysis and where the resources will produce the greatest impact on goal implementation.

In short, State is beginning to be operated more like an enterprise.

So, in selected geography the size of the footprint will change.

The UK presents unique opportunities for the US.

    It shares a common language.

The rule of law is well developed.

    It's stable.

    It's secure.

    There are certain cultural commonalities.

It's been put forward that for these and other reasons that the overseas needs of Americans and American interests require less State sponsorship and support than they would under other conditions.

Lastly, State's services to foreigners and foreign governments won't change - other than certain social aspects - just the delivery mechanisms.
